The food was so delicious and of such quality that we ate here twice over 5 days in Furnas. Chef Mintu creates the most artistic and delicious sushi. It is pure in form keeping with tradition but with twists that are exciting. The second time we had the omakase 8 moments tasting menu which was innovative, delicious and exciting. Chef Mintu explained his thinking behind each dish and what the ingredients were and how these were put together. He clearly has so much passion for the food. I had the caipirinha and Caesar salad at the bar after being out all day, they were good and hit the spot.

I was quite turned off by the waitress initially though. I had recently changed after going to the Hot springs next door, but has some wet spots on my shirt after changing. She insisted that she could not seat me because I was wet, despite showing her that I had changed and my pants were completely dry and shopping her the wet clothes from earlier in my hand. I put on a waterproof jacket to cover the wet spots, but she still wouldn't seat me. Another wait staff came over and took me to a seat instead. Mintu and Madhav prepared the most incredible sushi we’ve ever had at TN Sushi in Furnas. We chose the 8-course omakase, and each dish was a beautifully crafted showcase of local Azorean fish, expertly paired with our wine and full of thoughtful, surprising flavor combinations.

Mintu explained each course with care, highlighting the ingredients and intention behind every plate. It wasn’t how we expected to experience the island’s seafood, but it turned out to be the best fish meal of our entire trip.
