I visited La Storia, a restaurant in Feira, and opted for their tasting menu, priced at €18.90 per person with a minimum of two people required. The experience began pleasantly with a warm welcome from two smartly dressed waiters, who guided us to our table. The restaurant was tastefully decorated, with lighting that created a cosy and inviting atmosphere.
However, after this excellent start, the dining experience had its ups and downs. The tasting menu consisted of several courses. The first course was a starter featuring a focaccia toast with cherry tomatoes, pesto, buffalo mozzarella, and a touch of balsamic vinegar, which enhanced the flavour and was both delicious and well-balanced.
The second course, a risotto, fell short as it lacked the desired creaminess. Following that, the main course was a pizza served at an ideal temperature, with well-balanced flavours. Unfortunately, the dough lacked a solid base, which became apparent when cutting it.
Lastly, the dessert consisted of two scoops of ice cream paired with a cheesecake tart, beautifully presented. However, it was served on a single plate to share, which I found quite unpleasant. The same amount of food could easily have been served on two individual plates, avoiding the discomfort of sharing and significantly improving the overall experience.
Throughout the meal, the waiting time between courses was excessively long, and no explanations were provided about the steps of the menu. There was no change of cutlery, nor was there an appropriate space on the table to rest utensils during course changes.
The service was disappointing: the waitress lacked the preparation needed to deliver an experience of this calibre and did not adhere to basic etiquette standards for such a dining setting. While La Storia shows potential, the service and certain aspects of the menu's execution require significant...
Read moreI went today to have lunch with my family, and while the food was somewhat decent, the service was beyond awful. The servers took their sweet time to ask for our order in the beginning; when asked about what one of their charcuterie board included, the server simply said that she didn’t know. Between the first dish and the second, they took over an hour (not exaggerating), and when we asked the server about it, she told us, and I quote, “You already ate your firsts, my part in that is done.” This obviously upset us, as it’s nowhere near acceptable to respond in such a bratty and rude way when your clients have been waiting for more than an hour for their food. We thought of leaving, but we were pretty hungry and it was already 3pm. They messed up serving the three pizzas we ordered, mixing their names and such. The food was decent, nothing remarkable. It’s even redundant to say that we won’t be going there again, and we’re defined not recommending it to anyone we know. It’s one thing to be overcrowded and taking a little longer to serve the dishes, but it’s another thing completely to employ servers who are obviously lacking in manners and...
Read moreI recently visited La Storia and had an outstanding experience. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both family dinners and casual outings with friends. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that we felt welcomed from the moment we walked in. The highlight, of course, was the pizza – each bite was a delightful blend of fresh, high-quality ingredients and expertly crafted dough. The variety of toppings and the authentic, wood-fired flavor truly set this place apart. I highly recommend La Storia for anyone craving delicious,...
