Praiamar — Restaurant in Sesimbra

Dysfunctional staff. They have got issues with the foreigner unfortunately, pretty bad. I am going there every year once at least since 3 year. I have tasted amazing octopus there first. And my second and third time werent that amazing, however I kept going there. Last time, I went there with my young nephew to make him taste local restaurant. Stuff was horrible to us but they werent horrible to other guest which they were all Portuguese. First of all, they didnt welcome the guests until 19:30, they were keep shutting the door behind by saying its closed. but the opening time was 19:00. Even they felt free to complain behind of us (Just to us) by thinking we dont speak Portuguese language, about we were queuing in front of their door. I should have left at that moment but I didnt want to create trouble. Afterwards, it took hours to get order, which we were first guest on the queue. During the dinner, there was a women smoking without any gap behind of my young nephew which were also the people they werent first but they were settled before us because they were the people they know probably. I asked to chief waiter to warn her because she never give a break smoking and we are trying to eat food. But he didnt warn, instead he blamed me because such a stupid demand I have ! At the end of everything they didnt bring the bill for 50 minutes, when they brought they wanted to charge couvert which we didnt eat. I went inside to pay because they didnt come to get the pay another 30 min. When I went inside they were angry with me why i dont wait outside. And at that point I was wined up i said, I am not gonna sleep there, if they dont get the money I go. Then they threatened me by saying they gonna call the police and started to insulted me I am a foreigner, I need to shut up. I even didnt say any insulting word, just wanted to pay. When I was paying even one of the waitress was pushing me from my shoulder, incredible. They were completely horrible. I didnt mention about that to my husband and nephew and I paid and went out, didnt want to ruin my nephew holiday.

The Most Awful experience and disgusting experience! I went there yesterday on google it says it is opens at 11:00 am we were a group of 8 I said let me go there earlier till the rest of my group comes, and we went to Sesimbra to eat in this restaurant! I go there I saw a cook adjusting the tables with a DIRTY T-shirt it should be my first warning sign but I did'n t pay attention I talked to him in english he looked at me then kept moving the tables with his colleagues! I said sir Im talking to you, he replied with the most arrogant and rude way , I don't speak english! at that time another person arrived I believe it was the owner, no hi no smile nothing, I told him I wanna book for... Without letting me finish he said We don't accept reservations, I kept being nice and said ok so we should just come over, RUDE ARROGANT YES, I said oh! Ok I got it Bye. and if you read all the reviews you will read that this Restaurant has a serious Hygiene and Manners issues. So thank god they acted this way, I took my group to another restaurant and we have eat the best Cataplana ever with smiles and 5 Stars Service, beautiful ambient, and we were happy to pay for it! So...

This is worth 0 star but Google forces me to stick it at least one. Don't even stop there. The waiter literally threw the menu at us and was rude all along. The boss was always walking by, monitoring without doing anything at all.

The food had no taste - and we are not picky! They don't even know how to cook rice: it was served al dente. Really?

Now the worse part : the soup of the day - vegetables - was slightly acidulous: red flag! but we were hungry so we ate it. That one did not stay long in BOTH our stomachs ... Now I think about it, we should have reported them for serving food that had turned sour.

We are easygoing travellers. Used to simple food. We don't whine about average places but this one was appalling and as expensive as the ones with a sea view.

Are they worth spending time to write all this? No, but your money and...
