Well visited restaurant in Sesimbra, there is always a waiting line outside so we were encouraged by it. You go inside, register your name and number of guests and the staff will pick you up outside when your table is ready, after 2 hours wait we got our table and were ready for the feast.
Despite giving the food a lower rating I must also give the staff working the highest praize, welcoming, professional and nice.
The food sadly left lots of confusion to how the place has so long waiting lines, the shrimp curry was anything but curry, it was shrimps with cilantro (all you could taste was cilantro), all other tastes were just not there. Although we wouldn’t say any of the food was bad, it didn’t live up to expectations. We had the garlic prawns, clams and dressed crab head. The flavour of the prawns was lovely but they were quite over cooked, making them very tight. The clams again were delicious, cooked in a white wine sauce, but they were fairly gritty. The crab head was very tasty and we enjoyed that very much with the warm bread. The service was fine but overall we didn’t feel it was...
Read moreEasily one of the best seafood restaurants we tried in Portugal! The place is a bit old-school and not fancy, but that’s exactly what makes it so charming—super traditional, cozy, and welcoming.
The service was unbelievably fast and attentive, we didn’t have to ask for anything twice. And the food? Just perfect. Classic Portuguese dishes, all freshly made with so much care. Every single thing we ordered was delicious. It honestly felt like a home-cooked meal, the kind grandma would make.
Prices are totally fair for what you get. Just a heads-up—they only take cash! We didn’t realize, but luckily, we had enough on us.
Such a hidden gem in Sesimbra! Would come back in...
