Casa Borba Pizzaria — Restaurant in Setúbal

We were really looking forward to trying this pizzeria after seeing so many glowing reviews, but unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing — from the food to the service, ambience, and location.

The restaurant is right on a busy main road, with constant traffic and exhaust fumes. Sitting outside felt more like being on the side of a highway than at a cozy dinner spot.

They seemed clearly understaffed. We waited a long time just to get our drinks, and the waitress taking our order didn’t seem very competent or attentive. Throughout our meal, people were constantly walking in and out to pick up takeaway orders, which was quite disruptive and made the atmosphere feel chaotic.

As for the food — sadly, the pizza was not appetizing in appearance, and the taste didn’t make up for it either. It was a real letdown. The only thing I actually enjoyed was the dough itself, which had potential.

What surprised me the most was the sign outside claiming the place is one of the “Top 50 Pizzerias in the World” — Casa Borba Pizzaria colocada entre os 50 melhores do mundo!! What a great experience! Wonderful thin, crackling crust, baked to perfection. My pizza was the Vegan Artichoke - a treat. Purcini mushrooms and pungent garlic with a nice olive oil swirl. The house red wine was smooth, elegant and local ... we'll have to check out yet another winery ;-) Besides the ambience (traditional Italian, accordion and opera, backgroung music) Highlg recommended....

Lixo, eu sou apreciador de pizza, moro na cidade á 48 anos. Nunca comi em parte nenhuma uma pizza tão mal confeccionada. Só pela massa que mais parece pastilha elástica. Muita água na massa básico. Quando a massa fica muito dura muita farinha quando fica elástica muita água. Isso até um ignorante na restauração sabe. Vi as críticas muito bom, fui pelas críticas, apesar de nenhuma delas ser de nativos ou pessoas com bom rank. Simplesmente a não voltar. Querem comer uma pizza do mesmo tipo mas com condimentos de qualidade e confeccionada 5 estrelas, pizzaria o padrinho, o preço é mais barato, o tamanho igual os produtos de maior qualidade, a massa soberba. Querem uma pizza por mais 4€ que que chega pra uma família de quarto? Pizzaria Veneza no bairro do liceu. Cais 56 uma pizza maravilhosa cheia de condimento. Estou a falar das melhores pizzas em Setúbal. Em suma nem com uma critica sabem lidar, continua a rir e a goza na cara dos clientes que te pagam o negócio que chegas longe. Lembra-te que tens família clientes e negócio e que Setúbal não é seguro pra andar a tirar sarro. Mais tarde ou mais cedo com esse caráter, vão acabar por descobrir. não chegam...
