Ostras Sobre Rodas (Setúbal) — Restaurant in Setúbal

This place used to be one of my favorites. We often visited with family and friends. We were among the first customers when they opened in Setúbal. However, today was a shocking experience. We ordered oysters and wine, and since we were with children, we ordered burgers and sandwiches for them from a neighboring restaurant.

Just as we were about to serve the kids their food, a completely unreasonable and rude woman approached us. She began scolding us as if we were children. She didn't apologize, didn't ask us politely, and didn't wish us a pleasant evening. Instead, she rudely shouted, "WE HAVE RULES!!" and told us we couldn't bring in food from other establishments.

The service was not just neutral, it was extremely unfriendly, rude, and disrespectful. There are many ways to inform your customers about the rules, and shouting like a madwoman is the last one...

Such a great spot right on the water—perfect for a relaxed afternoon! The oysters were incredibly fresh, some of the best I’ve had in a long time—good size, super meaty, and full of flavor. I was also impressed by the wine selection for a food truck setup. Staff were super friendly and welcoming, which really added to the vibe.

One small thing—there was a deposit for the plastic champagne glass, which felt a bit odd. I would’ve preferred a real glass, especially on a breezy day when you want something with a bit more weight to keep it upright. But honestly, that didn’t take away from the experience at all. Would...

Beautiful establishment with great food but it seems the employees are more intent on closing than offering their service. Came here twice, both times 1.5hrs before closing time and twice we were told that they were closing due to no customers even though that there were. After making a point that I was in fact a paying customer I was told that I needed to hurry up my order. Not the way to do business. However on the second occasion the one person who served us with the food, knows what service and hospitality is about....
