Unfortunately the fish soup we had was undercooked and contained a couple of RAW fish. We understand that things like this may always happen, but we can't not mention it. Especially, since this restaurant specializes in fish dishes and it's so easy to get food poisoning from eating raw fish. The young server that helped us was apologetic and offered us one slice of cheesecake. When it came to paying, unfortunately the owner of the restaurant wasn't willing to provide us with more than a 10% discount, even though we couldn't finish half of the dish, as we discovered the raw fish filet. Perfekt! Hier arbeiten sehr freundliche, höfliche und aufmerksame Menschen. Freundlich empfangen, bekamen wir frisches, schmackhaftes Brot, dazu gesalzene Butter, Sardinenpastete und frische Oliven mit Stein, so wie es sein soll. Nachdem wir sehr schnell unsere Getränke bekamen, haben wir unser Essen bestellt. Meine Frau hatte ein saftiges, gegrilltes Lachssteak mit traumhaften Kartoffeln in Knoblauchöl. Ich genoss mein ebenso saftiges Hühnchen mit knusprigen Pommes Frites. Als Dessert nahmen wir noch einen Schokoladen-Kokosnuss-Kuchen, den uns Beatrice empfohlen hat, die bezaubernde Servicekraft, die für unseren Tisch zuständig war. So lecker und luftig, einfach köstlich! Abschließend probierten wir noch den berühmten Erdbeerbaumschnaps Medrenho, der uns echt zu stark war. Stattdessen bekamen wir noch einen fantastischen Portwein aufs Haus. Ein perfekter Abend, Dank dem Team des Recanto do Zé!

Perfeito! Aqui trabalham pessoas muito simpáticas, educadas e atenciosas. Recebidos calorosamente, ganhamos pão fresco saboroso, manteiga com sal, tarte de sardinha e azeitonas frescas com caroço, como devia ser. Depois que pegamos nossas bebidas muito rapidamente, pedimos nossa comida. Minha esposa teve um suculento bife de salmão grelhado com batatas maravilhosas em óleo de alho. Eu gostava do meu frango igualmente suculento com batatas fritas crocantes. De sobremesa tivemos um bolo de chocolate e coco recomendado por Beatrice, a adorável garçonete responsável por nossa mesa. Tão gostoso e arejado, simplesmente delicioso! Finalmente provamos o famoso schnapps de medronheiro Medrenho, que era realmente forte demais para nós. Em vez disso, temos um porto fantástico na casa. Razor Clams Rice is 👍👍👍 and portion is great, available for 1 pax as well. It's got a touch of Portuguese home cooking in it. Nothing super fancy, just good food! The sangria is by far the best I've ever had in the Algarve which says something. I asked the staff abt the wine base's brand and they said it's a Persian wine that they import themselves that cannot be bought elsewhere. They also generously offered half a glass of that wine for me to try. And then some port wine to end the night after my meal.
