Just to be clear: I am sure the food is amazing and it very much looked like that at least. I guess just every tourist out there coming to this restaurant should know what could go wrong. We (2 people) went there (out of the main season) on a Tuesday!!! at around 13:45. So i was not expecting what i saw to be honest and i have travelled around the world quite a lot and have experienced a restaurant or two ;) - chaos at the main entrance. People just standing there waiting in line but i guess the chance to be seated is close to zero and that‘s bc every 10min there is someone local (i hope at least with reservation )just entering and taking the free tables with just shaking hands with the waiter. I know i don’t speak the language but after 45min no one is telling you what is going on, if you could eventually be seated, how long is it going to take etc. You are just waiting and waiting and people are being seated and so on and so on and ofc you can imagine that after 45min of waiting in the sun i would like to at least know what is happening. I wouldn’t say a thing if at least i knew how long it’s going to take and if it is possible at the moment. Not a problem if they say no, it‘s just about waisting time ;) So as far as i can tell you we didn’t check it out and my journey began and ended at the entrance after...
And we went for another lunch at O Bejinha... we waited a while for a table, but it didn't bother me too much, I took the opportunity to take some photos of the seagulls, the boats, and the hustle and bustle of local fishermen! Once again we left there with the King in his Belly and with our taste buds jumping with joy and crying for more grilled fish! Today we chose Mr. Carlos' suggestion and ate a sea bass (from the sea) and not from a fish farmer! The fish was scaled and grilled to perfection by the Chef, Mr. Chico (grills better than any renowned European or Portuguese chef) and I write these words with knowledge of the facts! Not even in Sesimbra, Algarve or Peniche, even in Ericeira, come close to this Chef! They don't reserve tables, they write our name in order of arrival! Half of João's fish came with a sauce of fresh coriander and chopped garlic (green sauce style) and mine came naturally (just how I like it) The Restaurant is a space where simplicity is the center (no sissy stuff) Once again we must praise our Portuguese gastronomy! Congratulations to the Chef, Mr. Chico, the super friendly Staff and the very friendly Mr Carlos! Ah, while we waited for the Sea Bass, they offered us each a sardine...

Like a "taska" about the environment, but once it is located in the "Lota" you can have a beer before lunch and look at the working people taking care of the fish.
Mr João makes the rules Mr Francisco on the barbecue Menina Jenny, Patricia and other "girls" are nice people and good employees.
I've been here before and will return!
