If you are in the area and feel like sushi, this is the place to go. I ordered a take-out for eight people last night and it was the first time that I went to Matsu Sushi. I ordered six nigiri (8 pieces), hosomaki (salmon, kappa, tekka), futomaki chef special, and three kinds of uramaki. Coming from Japan, I am not used to eating sushi with cream cheese, so I opted for the most traditional kinds of sushi. I asked the futomaki to be traditional. Did they live up to my expectation? YES! After opening the five boxes on the dinner table at my in-laws, I was first struck about the size of the nigiri. It was the right size —not too big, not too small, elegantly presented. The futomaki was also so good. Hosomaki was perfect. I usually keep my expectation in check when I go to sushi outside of Japan unless I am in a major city like New York, but Matsu Sushi was wonderful. We got suggested to taste the Suzuki Uramaki roll, which is made with a local fish, and it’s a must try for me. Above that we enjoyed great advice for a lovely white wine from the area.
We made our reservation via google chat and we got an answer within 5 min, especially as a tourist that was super helpful.
We liked it that much, we came here 3 times in one week.

Really enjoyed their sangria as well. 1 star off for making it very unfair in pricing when making “special” orders. Asking for an avocado roll should not be priced the same as a salmon, cream cheese avocado roll because their is not an option for special orders. All else was great and will be back, but will not customize my orders...
