Neptuno — Restaurant in Sintra

I've been to this restaurant a couple of times and never really had any issues, the food is decent (there is better in Praia das Macas). This time however was quite different. I walked down the hill to the beach with my wife and 2 smaller kids and waited for the staff to request a table. It was about 8pm and the restaurant was only serving one table. When the waiter came up to me, I asked for a table for 9 and he immediately proceeded to say no, no, no way that would be possible. If we were maybe 4 that would be possible. I'm not your typical Portuguese, I am of Asian/African descent and since I've been living in the US for so long, I usually communicate with my wife and kids in English. When the waiter tells me he has no tables available and the restaurant is empty, it feels a little racist to me. I started walking away up the hill to another restaurant. My wife decided to FaceTime her sister who is a local and was walking down with the rest of the kids. When the waiter saw that we were with my sister-in-law, suddenly a table became available. Against my better judgement, I went back to the restaurant with my wife, kids and sister-in-law. The meal was average, par for Neptuno - the service was meh - nothing quite out of the ordinary. At the end of the meal, I mentioned to my wife and her sister - it is interesting that he didn't have tables available when I requested one and that at 10pm when we ended our meal, no other diners had come in for dinner that night. So all tables were still empty. That confirmed my thoughts that the initial waiter was a little racist to say the least. Located right on the beach, that was the best part! They had outdoor area but it was not open due to occasional rain. It was sunny the whole time o was there! I will say the seafood was excellent. The rest, meh. I got the octopus salad, and it was a good portion, so I took the leftovers with me and snacked on them later. For the main dish, I got tuna belly steak. You actually tell them how much you want by grams because it's priced by kilo. That was excellent! It was a lot of food ( I ordered 200g, which is about 6oz), and it was crusted with coarse salt, pink on the inside, and very flavorful. I wish it wouldn't end! But I was stuffed! Had a very disappointing lunch experience today. The best thing about this restaurant is the view. We waited forever for our food, all those around us were served and almost done before our food arrived. The restaurant was not full, they had plenty of empty tables and enough staff available to provide better service than what we received. We were a table of 2 and only ordered 1 dish to share. When it finally arrived it was extremely salty. Having eaten this dish multiple times in my life, I was surprised they screwed up such a simple dish.
