Meraki Hostel — Hotel in Sintra

The hostel has potential, but it needs some improvements. The rooms are very noisy, and on the street side it’s almost impossible to sleep with the window open. The beds were quite worn out, and unfortunately some of our towels smelled like wet dog. The toilets are extremely cramped, and since toilet paper cannot be flushed, the bins fill up quickly at busy times, which is rather unpleasant.

On the positive side, there is a spacious kitchen with all the necessary facilities, and the location right next to the beach has a lot of potential. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, which we truly appreciated. However, overall the price–quality ratio...

Cheap but also feels cheap.. Worn out interior and furniture. Kitchen supplies don‘t work (toaster broken, only one stove was working), Wifi didn‘t work 80% of the time, on the terrace loud and very smelly sound from the ventilation system from the restaurant next door, bathroom and toilet situation pretty catastrophic..

It‘s ok for one night but definatly not a pleasant stay. Could use some proper deep cleaning...

Our experience here was pretty good ( as good as it gets when sharing a space with other strangers). We got it for the location, as it was right next to the beach, and also it's easy to get to other places from there (we always walk so it's nice to have views while getting from a place...
