Saw this place on our way to another restaurant that happened to be closed when we arrived. Since O Lavrador had caught our eye we decided to give it a try and I am so glad that we did! The restaurant was adorable inside and full of locals but we were seated quickly. We ordered the house specialty of steak on a stone and it was delicious! It was exactly the kind of simple, traditional meal we were looking for and easily became our favorite meal in Portugal so far. The cheese starter and the baked apple and red fruit cheesecake were excellent as...

They really push the "steak on a stone", emphasizing it with large, bold, italic (that's right, bold AND italic) font, but just because they're shamelessly shoving it down your throat doesn't mean you shouldn't shove it down yours. It's delicious, font faux-paus notwithstanding. Plus, ordering the steak on a stone makes you feel a little bit like a gluttonous version of King Arthur, which is the closest thing to a hero most of us peons...

We just had dinner in this restaurant tonight & we had a great time with our toddler. Very kind and friendly staff and fantastic food! We tried their meat specialty cooked over a heated stone and it was absolutely delicious! We were very satisfied with the tranquil place, service, food and the fair price. We will be coming...
