O Celeiro — Restaurant in Tavira

Mature couple on holiday March 24. Great for a beer and a glass of wine. However the food was really average. I had the chicken and mushroom casserole . It came with chips and rice. It was cold and I had to take it back inside to the counter and complain. Next one was a lot better, but am not sure if I would have that again. Side salad was good. The fish was ray. That was supposed to be grilled , but it was a bit soggy, I'd say it wasn't grilled. That said it was a nice bit of fish. I didn't enjoy the food. Loved this place, the food was fab, had two Tuna salad sandwiches which were large and a home made large portion of chips. Staff were very friendly and upbeat. After had milky coffees and two cakes which were both really tasty, was very good value. Also had a wee wander around the village to see some of the old houses and other buildings....

Great local restaurant. Lovely local dishes. Quite often they have excellent grilled fish on Saturdays and nice specials on Sundays. Limited menu but all good food and nicely cooked! Home cut chips, cooked fresh. Excellent service. Amazing value. Just enjoyed a very nice meal for four, including drinks for €62! Our favorite...
