Possible food poisoning My stomach felt dreadful after eating here last night. Then this morning I threw up violently and have felt terrible ever since, ruining my holiday. The only thing I have done differently to any other night was to eat here, so I’m pretty positive something was wrong with the food I was served. Below is still my original five star review. ——————————————— Excellent meal out in Cabanas De Tavira. Really worth coming here and paying that little bit extra and getting much better quality meat and ingredients. We ordered the Sebastian Steak and the Bacalhau and both were superb and HUGE. Service was “OK” (no one asked if our meal was ok). Incredibly tasty all round. Would go again. Best meal I’ve had out in years (Usually I always seem to end up with mediocre food no matter how much I pay). They should probably describe what Sebastian/Campista is...

Upon my arrival my waitstaff was not so welcoming. But as I sat there, they opened up when I spoke my basic Portuguese. I can understand their feelings because all of us there were foreigners. Heads up, if you’re German, English or American, put your best foot forward. They’re good people. Put yourself in their position, how would you feel? What service and tasteful food! I had steak and shrimp, yes big as the plate. Wine was good, and so was dessert and schnapps, or liquor. I had an almond liqueur called Amarquinha and a Medronho (crab apple - bauren schnapps) all was good. Definitely returning. For those English speakers, ask for Jasmine. Alles ist gut...

Acho piada ao comentário do sr Paulo Baptista pois eu consigo perceber o seu descontentamento, não está no entanto a ser de todo justo com o restaurante em si, bem como com as pessoas que lá trabalham e frequentam o mesmo. Curiosamente lembro-me exactamente do seu pedido, sou cliente habitual do restaurante e curiosamente estava numa mesa ao lado da desse senhor nessa noite. O dr foi de todo vulgar e provocador tal como o próprio filho do mesmo. Sopa de peixe que eu adoro e que é servida na dose certa para uma entrada que é exactamente aquilo que é, se o arroz de lingueirão não prestava não entendo porque é que só percebeu isso depois de comer o caldeirão todo, curioso isso. Por último, pediu uma informação, não espere que andem consigo ao colo. Pode até ser o maior na sua rua, mas em qualquer outro restaurante não passará de um cliente. E a próxima vez tente não ofender os empregados, pois badameca não se chama a ninguém. Mas tomo a liberdade para concluir que se tem este tipo de comportamento vingativo só poderá ser um badameco qualquer com a mania que mete medo.
