Pizzeria la Lupa — Restaurant in Tavira

This restaurant was a big disappointment. After a good dinner it’s started. We did not ask for the bill. The owner came and put it on the table. We felt that they don’t want us to be there any longer. They change us on the bill for tip and they change us for a carton because we like to have a “doggy bag “ . We pay the amount for 4 people 68.50€ a of amount 70€. they kept the money over what the bill was, without let us to decide. I don’t understand why they keep it. When we left the owner ask me if everything was okay and I told him that I don’t accept that they take our money/ tips twice and a he just say suddenly “I don’t understand.” I don’t recommend this restaurant . I know that all restaurants have a hard time. But this kind of behaviour is not acceptable. We live here in Tavira since over 5 years and we have never been treated like this before. I like to point it out that it’s not about the money it’s about the behaviour. We like to give tips but not to one who don’t know who’s paying the bills for...

Edit went back again twice March 25.. just fabulous again . Edit march 24went back for a second visit. Diavola pizza this time was really excellent and staff and the chef were just brilliant. Mature couple on a winter holiday. We love pizza and the reviews for this place made it a must go. The staff were really nice and attentative We had mushroom pizza and a peperoni Pizza, wine beer and coffee. Pizza base was fab, best I have had in a long time. OH had a mushroom pizza and commented is was good authentic pizza particularly the base I also enjoyed my pizza, but would have preferred pepperoni rather than slized bacon.. that was my fault. should have read the menu more carefully. Was really looking forward to eating here but unfortunately poor communication led to several issues with a simple pizza, huge delays between dishes being served, pasta were very small portions and watery sauce. The staff were unfortunately not understanding with their mistakes and very rude (tried to tell us we were wrong when we sent back the pizza because there was no salami and then they put cold salami on top and told us that it was always that way - even though the previous pizza came out with cooked salami). A lot of it came down to a lack of English understanding - while I appreciate we are in a Portuguese speaking place, the owner was trying to speak with us in Italian and getting quite irate when we couldn't understand him.
