Restaurante Atlantis — Restaurant in Tavira

We have just returned from our reserved supper table at Atlantis Cabanas. The whole experience, with the exception, of an alternative wine recommendation, as no Penalto and a young waiter who DID actually get the (previously requested to a more mature waiter) parmeasan cheese and pepper grinder for my mushroom risotto! I initially recieved a prawn risotto instead of the mushroom risotto I had requested ( im vegetarian!). Although it had arrived a while after my companions meal, had it been anything like delicious, that really wouldnt have been a problem, but it didnt look appitising - brown and gravy like, it wasnt flavoursome or at all tasty! They should take a look at one of their neighbours mushroom risottos - the Coral, which is cooked beautifully and not the least bit brown! My companions meal - tuna steak, which was only acceptable, and spoilt by the hard boiled potatoes. The atmosphere left a lot to be desired as a number of tables around us were vocally irritated at the length of time it took to place orders, have starters, main meals cleared away or even to pay the bill! Tables are too close together and frequently staff or other diners bump into your chair /table. We have been in Cabanas a week and this was our first very disappointing meal. On the way out of the resturant, i advised waiting diners NOT to waste their time and suggested other resturant options. One couple had indeed noticed the apparent choas of the waiting tables trying to attract a waiters attention! This is the third year i have visited Cabanas, thank goodness there ARE other amazing resturants that serve delicious food, by friendly efficient staff in a much more cordial and ENJOYABLE atmosphere! We will not be visiting the Atlantis resturant again during our stay or future...

Shame about the service as the food was good when it came. My wife and I stopped here for lunch. We both ordered one of the daily plates of tagliatelle with mussels. The waiter bought us out rolls and butter and our drinks then nothing.!! There was only one other table of 4 people , who got their food reasonably quickly but ours never arrived. Several times the waiter came to see if we were alright, which we said yes, but after about 30mins when we were next asked we said we would be when our food arrived. Twice we responded thus way. Now I'm not much of a chef, but considering the kitchen staff were not exactly busy, I'm sure it takes about 10 minutes to prepare and cook a pasta dish. After 45 mins our food arrived with a comment that the chef had lost the order. It was a good job it wasn't busy !!! The food was superb, but then the bill arrived with a charge of 3 euros for olives we never had or in fact got offered. To be fair the bill was adjusted but I wonder how many more 3euros they make ina day . So disappointed that we will...

Food was great when it eventually arrived . Only 1 other table waiting g for food when we arrived , who got there food quickly. We ordered a dish of the day soon after arriving, tagliatelle with mussels, and a drink. Drink arrived but 40 mins later we were just about to walk out when our foo inally arrived. It takes 10 mins to cook a pasta dish !! We had been asked several times if everything was OK to which we replied that hopefully it would be when we get our food to which the standard reply was " its soon"" The food was excellent but I won't be going there again. The owner even asked us how it was and we mentioned how bad the service had been and she replied "thankyou" Then tried to charge us 3 euros for olives we didn't have. Too many other restaurants to try before considering going back. A shame...
