Água Na Boca — Restaurant in Vila do Bispo

The food was indeed excellent throughout but unfortunately the service and atmosphere did not match for us. We made 2 faux pas, arriving as a party of 2 instead of the booked 4 (as one of our sons was not well enough to attend so both stayed behind) and then asking for glasses of wine instead of a bottle. From then on we received the minimum of service, even to the extent that the maitre d' greeted every other table except ours.

My trio of fish salad included extremely tender octopus, and my husband's spicy ribs were soft and tasty. We both had fish for mains, sole for me which was delicious (shame that I had to ask for a plate for the skeleton so that I could fillet it, and even that this was not done for me at the table) and sea bass. I never leave reviews for restaurants but need to make an exception. We ate in Água Na Boca last week and the meal was wonderful. Beautifully cooked, brilliant service and lovely atmosphere. I'm not a fan of seafood, so chose chicken and had fairly low expectations but it was probably one of the nicest dishes I've ever had! Served with a very generous portion of vegetables, perfectly cooked and seasoned. My family had octopus with sweet potato mash (I'm told that this was delicious) and a fantastic seafood salad. I had to put up a review as this resturant was so good. We arrived there Thursday before last at 6pm and the resurant was just opening. They were able to fit our big group of 10 ppl and a baby in where no other resutant we passed could. The food was unreal 2 ppl had steak and said it was the best they ever had. I had chicken and the sauce and accompliments where unreal, so tasty! Service was great and no more expensive than we are used to paying here in Ireland for standard pub grub. Highly recomend...
