Fantastic location in fishing port, freshest fish! This family run business caters gor all, fishermen and tourists. If it isnt too windy you can sit on the terrace in the sun and watch the port activity. If it is blowing hard, step inside and look down into the fish market and auctions.

Feb 2025: we suffered for months during the winter closure, but now our favourite has reopened! It is now more comfortable on the terrace with a large covered area. You can still sit out in the sun or under a parasol if that is what you prefer. Did I mention the fish? Still the BEST. Had a fantastic Corvina steak today and our guests had turbot. Fantastic fishing port restaurant. This is a typical fishermen's café, on top of the fish auction, where they also serve meals cooking fish from the harbour for you, on demand.

I found this place a very cosy local place where to enjoy a meal at the same time you enjoy the harbour's lifestyle around you. The bar is on top of the harbour's fish trade market. They have windows over the auction area from where you can enjoy all the action below at the same time you enjoy a meal or a drink.

The service was also superb. Most staff are 100% bilingual English & Portuguese and they are very kind at all times.

The fish and squid was fantastic and also the local deserts (egg pudim or regular one) were incredibly good.

You would not expect that much from this place if you only look at the outside. But all the seafood come straight out of the sea and therefore super fresh. You can pick your own ‘fish of the day’ and they weigh it in front of you (we had the sea bass) so you know what to expect and get. The mussels were also incredibly delicious… everything was just great, even the crunchy french fries! You can definitely tell that these were fried in ‘fresh’ oil.

And do not forget the staff.. they are patient, make you feel at home, very welcoming! You can see that they are dedicated to this restaurant. Would definitely recommend and come back.
