Marina Bar — Restaurant in Vila Franca do Campo

I tend to go here mainly for the vibe and scenery. But warn tourists - I've tried various items from their menu, but I tend to stick with a tosta mista and a Galão, which never disappoint.

The scrambled egg breakfast, on the other hand, falls a bit short in terms of flavor. The house burger is decent, although I'd recommend swapping the regular bun for a bolos levedo for an extra Portuguese touch.

One thing to note is that the service here can be very very slow, so I'd only recommend coming if you're not in a hurry, even if the restaurant isn't crowded. The servers are friendly, but the wait times can be a bit frustrating. We often choose to go inside to pay because waiting outside can take a while. They only accept cash and Visa cards for payment.

Unfortunately, there's an issue with cleanliness as well. The tables and chairs are often dirty, and there can be trash around. What's more, some locals allow their dogs to poop and pee right by the restaurant. While some responsible pet owners pick it up and dispose of it in the nearby bins, if the wind is just right, you can sometimes catch a whiff of that, along with the public bathroom odor which is across from some tables.

Absolutely awful experience! Avoid at all costs. Cute cat wondering everywhere which was adorable but was even in the kitchen and food prep area. After arriving and getting a table, ordering out food (we were some of the first people there) every table that arrived after us got there food. Over 45 minutes later we had still not received our food. After asking different members of staff where our food was and what was going on. We went here for a midday snack and was very disappointed with both the service and the food. The staff were very miserable and the waitress seemed very rude. She dropped a piece of pizza which we ordered in front of us and didn’t even dare to apologise. Then another waitress spilled a drink all over a lady sitting next us. There was a third waitress who was eating an ice cream in the corner and talking on the phone which didn’t look too pleasing nor professional. I believe the waitresses should be retrained if they cannot perform their jobs properly as well as retrained with some manners.
