What a scam place. For a start you have to have time. Because they are slow. We ask for 4 menu del dia. We only receive our main course, which was ok. There was no starter available anymore. When they bring dessert, there are only 3 portions left. They even forgot our coffee. When we receive the bill to pay they charge four full menu's. So I go in to the place, to discuss the bill. The owner immediately gets aggressive with me, only in portugese. So i understand nothing, my fault. He says, menu is menu. Even if half of the menu is not available. He starts yelling and shouting. And het treats me '*'. All that, in front of my children. I was willing to pay the price, all i wanted was a small gesture. But that guy made it impossible. A place to avoid, when you are a tourist. He shouted at me and yelled to me that i needed to get out. So I propose to call the cops. But he ignored my question. So, for me, that's a signlal that he know's that he's in fault. What a welcome in Portugal...
Read moreI’ve NEVER had a bad meal here. Today I had Fried fish fillet with bean rice - so simple, but just so well done. The rice was such a lovely accompaniment to a crispy but not overly done piece of fish. The bread with seasoned butter and the tasty soup start off the meal, but the prize is the dish - and I’ve eaten here probably 8 times now -I always head there as a first choice. They are closed on Wednesday during off season. The servers are so friendly and perfectly attentive - not too much, not too little. I love this place….wish I had tried it sooner, but once I had, I am hooked. Its inexpensive, but the place is so cute and if the weather accommodates, the outdoor seating is lovely. I usually get there specials and I’ve tried a variety of options. My sister and brother...
Read moreI have to admit that after sitting down, and taking a look around the place, we quite quickly realised we should have kept walking. The restaurant seams to be suffering from an identity crisis. I am not sure which century it belongs to, or which country, or countries foods it is a part of. Turns out half the menu was not available anyway, and what we were served left a lot to be desired. The owners and staff appeared very relaxed about the whole situation adding to the increasingly uncomfortable environment. I suspect that very little, if not nothing at all is made fresh, on site. I would avoid if you are looking for more than an ice cream, coffee, or...
