Eça Pizza Gourmet — Restaurant in Vila Nova de Gaia

This restaurant offers a unique concept, drawing inspiration from the literary works of Eça de Queirós for both its menu and pizza names. The venue itself is charming and well-maintained, although it's situated between a heavily trafficked road and a railway. For a quieter experience, staying indoors is advisable, as the interior is quite pleasant. The table service was courteous.

The starters we opted for, the burrata and jamon, were delightful. Equally impressive were the pizzas, featuring original flavors crafted from quality ingredients. It's this distinctiveness that truly sets this place apart.

However, there's room for improvement in their beverage selection. The Daiquiri fell short—too sweet and lacking the freshness reminiscent of those found in Cuba. Additionally, the bottle of red wine arrived at a warm 24°C, necessitating an ice bucket to bring it down to the ideal temperature range of 16-18°C.

The desserts were pleasant, although they were rather average and didn't surpass expectations.

These guys serve some delectable pizzas and the vegetarian option is surprisingly good! And I am saying surprisingly because I found that it is hard to find really good vegetarian/vegan food in Portugal as often as I used to find in Germany. The pizza portion size is also worth.

The service is good. Ppl talk English. The place has good atmosphere - Outdoors and Indoors. I preferred indoors because it was a bit warm outside.

Tip: You can get down at Espinho. Take a walk on the beach by the wooden foot path and reach Granja. Refresh yourself at Eça Pizza by a Pizza and a drink. Then return back to Espinho by walking on the same path to burn the calories. An...

What a shame! We are desperate to support local businesses with our custom. We came here asking to have pizza to take away over an hour before the restaurant was due to close. We could see that the kitchen was still making pizzas. We wanted to buy drinks while we waited for our pizzas to be made. They would have made over €60 from our custom. We were told the kitchen is closed and it's not possible. Even though we could see the chefs still making pizzas for customers in the restaurant. We worked in the service industry for 15 years each and we have never encountered such crazy behaviour towards custom....
