Gran Sabor Latino — Restaurant in Vila Nova de Gaia

A great addition to GAIA( & Porto’s),often underrepresented South American Cuisine.

Try their Tamale, perfectly cooked by steam, wrapped in a genuine banana leaf that is loaded with big pieces of Pork and Carrots and a variety of root vegetables. Excellent taste and very filling. My only criticism would be 2 things:

1. Please, please, please… Masa, por favor- no necessito ARROZ. Corn flour is essential to any tamale ( or “tamal”) be they from MEXICO to America South. I’ve eaten various tamales on the streets of CHICAGO, ranging from tiny ones wrapped in corn husk, to soft, luxurious spicy ones wrapped in Banana Leaf in the manner of Oaxaca’s Abuelitos, to Bogota Tamales and Peruvian etc. Not one- used rice.😏
2. Please add some Sazon. Mas Picante… a bit of Chile to make you remember it better.😋 Obrigado.

We can not wait to return to try more of Colombian flavors at- “Gran Sabor de Latino”
