Enjoyed unique experience of a “cooking lesson” with the Chef which consisted of the chef first leading us through her gardens and fruit trees while explaining her philosophy behind the food we would learn how to prepare; this was followed by a “hands on”demonstration of some specialities (tapas) which was followed by a fabulous lunch (using her signature thistle cream) with delightful house wines. A very personable and skilled introduction to some Portuguese dishes and local cheeses and herbs! Just great adventure all around! (This was day visit so hotel rooms are not applicable). We have enjoyed every minute of our stay. We have arrived, and we have asked if they have rooms, Pedro asked us if we are hungry. This was a sign that is going to be a great experience. The rooms are great, clean, spacious, and cosy. It's a family business, which makes the experience even better, as they will give you the extra attention and warmth, making you feel like you know Pedro and Carolina by a long time. Three of us (2 Adult 1 Child) visited the restaurant for a Friday night dinner and it definitely did not disappoint! The food was delicious (including locally sourced fillet steak and very tasty brownie) and the setting and views were perfect.
