Hotel José Alberto — Hotel in Viseu

This hotel is on a quiet street but very close to the small city centre and all the attractions. There is a private car park underneath the hotel but you can also park on the street. The receptions staff speak good englsih and were very pleasant and helpful - they recommended places to visit, placves to eat etc. Our room was a decent size, clean and comfortable (very big bed!) with a decent sized bathroom and good shower. Some of the rooms have balconies although ours didn't, our windows overlooked the road but as it was very quiet this wasnt a problem. There is free wifi throughout the hotel. The only thing that I didnt like was the smell of cigarette smoke in our room, however, this seemed to improve when we turned the air conditioning off. Breakfast was good - buffet with a good rrange of hot and cold foods. On our last day we werent leaving until late in the afternoon and as it was a Sunday the hotel staff let us keep our room until the afternoon with no extra charge...

There are many good and not so good things on this Hotel. Allow me to specify.||||I would say that the breakfast was quite good, very diversified in offer, the number of power sockets across the room as well (that's 3 or more per room "division"), decent amount of pillows and bathroom accessories, an average private parking place with a disability parking slot reserved, properly working elevator, so decent 3 star amenities||||However, the price was a bit steep in comparison with some places where I have been, there was no antislip on the bathtubs (we had the possibility to be in two rooms), the balcony doors to the outside did not close completely (which rendered confort a bit down during cold nights), very noisy electrical system, deficient room soundproofing, even TVs were completely different and with a different setup.||||It was comfortable enough, but could...

This hotel is conveniently located near to the historical part of Viseu, and also to cafes, restaurants etc. It is modern but extremely tastefully furnished and decorated, Staff are extremely friendly and helpful - we found that nothing was too much trouble for them. ||Rooms are airy and spacious - we had a balcony looking out onto small hotel patio. Quiet area to stay. ||We stayed in July and paid a mere 50euros per night , for a good sized double room, with ensuite, and this price included continental breakfast for two people and parking.
