Overall I'm not a fan of writing reviews, but visiting this place made me do it. In a nutshell, it's a pompous, overpriced location with so-so sushi. People seem to visit it not to eat sushi but to show they have enough money to waste. First, you'll have to guess which tables are reserved since there are no signs. Then you'll be impressed by the 15 euros price of Tom Yam as if the restaurant is located in San Francisco or, say, Venice Beach. Also, be ready to find out they don't have Edamame beans, which are a part of their starters' menu. One of the few pros was a compliment from the chef, a tiny piece of tuna bread. Oh yeah, they don't put soy sauce on the table but pour a standardized amount themselves, which is bizarre, taking every person eats sushi in its manner. Say I prefer having a tablespoon of soy sauce and then dissolving a tablespoon of wasabi. That simple scenario turned into a complex task for me in SushiRoom. Not sure who are all those people who shout this to be a top-tier place. My only guess is that they have never traveled the world and seen top-tier sushi places. Last but not least, prepare yourself for the judgmental stare from the waiter, who looks like he's just out of the barbershop around the corner if your order amount is less...
Read moreI've read all those good reviews and decided to go check this place out, it was in May this year. Sushi were absolutely not tasty and didn't look good or professional. Definitely overpriced but probably because of the location. Even in Bucharest shopping malls you can get much better sushi. I think prosecco was ok though ;) Also, we wanted to sit outside as there was a free table when we approached, and it didn't have any "Reserved" table sign but "not happy to see us" waitress told its booked, when we asked for it :) No one sit in there for...
Read moreThis was one of the best culinary experiences I've ever had. Clearly, the best in Romania. Although I can sense a certain european vibe to the way sushi is prepared(truffles, sauces, the tuna tartar gunkan), the taste, the freshness and plating all made me feel the closest I've ever been to Japan since my last visit. Not to mention how absolutely amazing the wine selection is! Do yourself a favor and try their plate for one or two ASAP! Oh, and the Tom Yam soup is excellent as well, if you fancy sour dishes :) All in all, 6...
