EN One of the best stays. We stayed in a junior suite deluxe (room 439),a gorgeous, spacious and luxurious room of 45 square meters (as described on the presentation), we had a box of chocolate candies, a bottle of champagne, coffee, tea and water on the house. The room has a jacuzzi bathtub (in the room) which creates a romantic atmosphere and an artificial fireplace that imitates very well a real one. Very nice and elegant furniture. A huge dressing with a very useful mirror on it. Free bath items and also for personal use, slippers and bathrobes as well. The bathroom is very spacious with a walk-in shower, they also have a telephone in the bathroom. For dinner I highly recommend the Zarada restaurant not only for the good food and prices but also for the very best staff. The breakfast is one of the best I have ever had.

This is a great place to have an event or conference, and, potentially, also a great place to stay overnight. Can't measure up why they have a broken grand piano in the lobby, with some sort of flower arrangement inside it. While some might find this artistic, my heart weeps next to any mistreated musical instrument, though, to be fair, I discriminate against non-acoustics. There's something to any type of acoustic that comes to life and having that liveliness sucked away and replaced with some sort of floral arrangements may be poetic to some, but it leaves me distressed and suffering in ways I'm never really care to admit outside the context of this review few people will read.

The staff and services are excellent, and I would recommend this place for your next event, provided that this is what you're into. I'd love to have more to stay, but that piano thing left me pretty much wandering about elsewhere in my mind, incapable of congregating adequate thoughts about a mostly adequate place. Enjoy!

Later edit!

Just received a reply to my review, and would like to clarify that the piano in itself is not an objective issue, you should certainly give this place a try next time you want to visit/stay/organize...

I used the hotel during a business trip, but it was definitely not suited for this purpose. The overal layout is a mixture of oriental and modern styles I would describe as kitch. The room was indeed big and rather clean, there was free water and a boiler with some tea and instant coffee. However there was no proper workspace in order to be able to sit at a table and work on a computer. The only chair with a backrest was made out of cheap materials beneath the velvet-ishy cover so it was like sitting of unfinished wood. I had to put a pillow on it in order to be able to write some e-mails. In the bathroom the fittings were in not so good shape, the matress was soft and for people with back pains definitely a challenge to sleep on. I rated the experience 3 stars mainly because the staff is quite nice and polite although definitely overworked. I dined in the hotel restaurant, where there was also a quite large private gathering and the waiters were clearly head over heals both with the party and individual guests, as myself. Nevertheless I received a decent table, advice on the menu and the food came rapidly and was really tasty. I would not consider returning for...

The hotel is close to the airport, which is good. When you pull up, it’s in an area which makes you think oh ok! But, you walk in and it’s a whoa. Massive reception area, full of chairs and tables for relaxing. There is a Lebanese restaurant, which was quite nice, the portions are big so be careful. Breakfast is on another level, so much to choose from. Hot, cold, fruit, vegetables, sweet and savoury. Plenty of tables to sit at, so you don’t feel crowded while eating. The rooms are ok, the bed is big and the shower temp and pressure is good. But your feet will have a bath while you shower. The drain away is slow, and you might think it will overflow, but it won’t. There’s plenty of space for your clothes and enough lights and switches, to keep you going for a while. While you figure out how to turn them all off. The room was very warm, no heating on and it was probably too warm for me. I opened the window, but had to close again because of the road noise. But I left the window open all day and that made a difference the second day. Would I come back here again? Yes I would, it’s been great

What used to be a truly "Grand" hotel is now in decline. I have visited it several times during the past 9 years and I have seen it happen gradually. The furniture wearing down, carpets accumulating stains, etc. But the worst offenders are the bathrooms. They have made a poor attempt at patching them up, keeping the old fixtures and filling all of the seams with moldy silicone. Not what you expect from a 4-star hotel. Outside of the bathrooms, the rooms are "fine", but obviously dated. There was an attempt at refreshing some of the original furniture, and it looks all right, as long as you don't look too close. The price keeps creeping up year by year, and the quality keeps going down. The only redeeming qualities that remain are the friendly staff and the breakfast. But make no mistake, this is an aging hotel, long past it's glory days. Suffice to say, I shall not be returning.
