Voronezh — Restaurant in Khamovniki District

Location is the only advantage of this place. A huge menu on four pages. More than 20 positions of meat, steaks, meaty meals. But the staff (in any case, our waitress, who was recommended by the manager as the best waitress of the place) cannot articulate the difference, suggest and provide a service corresponding to the status and location of the place. We ordered a Machete steak (one - well done, the other medium rare), and eventually we've got two poorly cooked chunks of shoes sole like (one - deadly overcooked, the other slightly better) accompanied with blunt knives. On our modest request about the quality of meat, the manager of the restaurant (nice, but not enough experienced lady) went into active defence and at times an attack - it turned out that we were given "chewing" meat from "alternative" varieties. It's our fault that we are not dexterous enough. After an awkward negotiations, they offered to re-cook the meat. But neither the mood nor the attention attracted to us had to the second round of steaks. We have politely refused the proposal. They promised to exclude steaks from the bill and offered free desserts. But what was our surprise when the the final amount included all the positions (and meat!) without mentioning it in the list. Overall the place is ok. I entered, the hostess was bisy on the phone and she just showed me the way to the 'fast food' space downstairs. I didn't find the seat, came back, had to wait to get some attention. She finally found me one seat. I was waiting for the menu for about 10 min and eventually had to get it myself. Considering that the space is so small, I don't understand why it could possibly take so much time. I ordered pastrami sandwich. As you can see it was full of meat, had to take out some of the meat to just make a bite. Cucumbers and mustard were good. The quickest was getting a bill there. So after 15 min of walking around the city centre I also got an acid reflux. So, summing up: the food is ok, the service is slow, too crowded on the weekend, prices are a bit too high. I...

The interior is nice. The selection of food is ok. The service is a disaster, even for extremely low standards of Moscow. As very often in the other Rappoport restaurants, they were only accepting cash. We were team of 4 on the second floor of the restaurant. The waitress asked if we would need to split bills, we happily agreed and she didn’t even try to cover she was not in favor of this idea, she made such a face as we are asking her to do something very unpleasant and something she could never agree with.
