I wanted to have a memorable dinner with my wife, instead we had an expensive, very forgettable one. Ruth Chris is a franchise, not unlike Outback, but instead Ruth Chris wants you to believe they are a high end steakhouse by over charging for everything, but in reality it is just mediocre food at a very high price point. Based on my experience: 1. $16 Grey Goose martini, an average drink but was a full inch short from the top of my glass. Would have failed bartender school standards. 2. $22 Calamari, was very good, lightly breaded and flash fried. Asian chili sauce nicely accented the dish; however, the same can be found in the area for about $14. 3. $13 Seafood Gumbo, where was the seafood? Counted maybe three shrimp; worst of all, was so over salted it was inedible. We sent it back to the kitchen. 4. $15 Chopped Salad, egregiously bad. Tasted as if the kitchen threw a bunch of vegetables into a blender and called it a salad. Hard to tell what was actually on the plate. What type of dressing? Hard to tell. 5. $14 Lyonnaise Potatoes. Basic potatoes with butter and onion. Hard to justify a $14 price point, other than everything needs to be expensive to fit the business model. 6. $68 Ribeye. Yes it was a well cooked, flavorful steak. But $68 worth? Not even close. I could and have, bought a Prime Cowboy Ribeye from Walmart; seasoned with kosher salt and pepper; cooked it in my cast iron skillet with olive oil and it came out better for under $25. And that is God's honest truth. 7. And best of all to put a bow on this travesty of a meal: $12 Creme Brulee, we ordered to go. Not sure why the kitchen thought it was a good idea to pack in a cardboard box. The photo below was what we opened when we got home. If our tab was $150, I would not have been so critical; however when it is $300 you expect more and standards need to be higher. I could not imagine ever going back to any Ruth Chris. Instead I will take my high end business elsewhere and if I want a good meal at a good price I will go to Outback. I HIGHLY recommend others do the same.

Visited this Myrtle beach location on Christmas day! And here’s the breakdown of what I think of this restaurant. Parking: When we went, it was packed. The parking is right across the street from the entrance. Theres a valet parking if you prefer that. Entrance: Theyre pretty systematic on how they accept their guests. It was Christmas day so we knew that there would be a bit of a wait. It took us around 20 mins to be seated. Servers/Hostess/Staff: They will greet you professionally all the time with their big smiles. We had Tanner as our server and he’s well informed of what Ruth Chris has to offer. The other staff also made sure that our glasses weren’t empty and that everything was going ok with dining experience. Food: VERY GOOD AND FILLING! I had the lobster and the filet combo and they were tasty and juicy. The appetizer we had was so good I want to go back and have more. It’s an Italian dish but I cant remember the name. It’s on one of the picture. The chefs desert was rich and im not a fan of that. You could ask the server for the dessert menu, if you want a different one. Price: Now this place is not your ordinary steakhouse. The entrees range from $15-$150. However, they have this classic choice wherein you could get a full course meal for around $60-$90. Check the back side of the menu for that one. But if you’re going there to experience the big Tomahawk, go have at it! I tell you now, it’s huge. All in all, I would like to say that the price to experience was well worth it. Overall critic: This place is perfect if you have special occasions or if you want to spoil yourself or someone. The price to experience ratio was definitely 1:1. I suggest though to visit not during the big holidays like what we did. We will be visiting the Atlanta location next time.

I’ve never left a bad review in my entire life. However I was so absolutely disgusted by my experience. I was unsuccessful with getting someone on the telephone so here I am. Very first experience here was super excited about trying this place and decided to do it on our anniversary. We came in with our daughter she is just shy of 7 weeks and apparently that was our first mistake when coming here. This place is not kid friendly at all. They did not have any slings for a car seat and she is too young to sit in a high chair. When she started getting a little grumpy and needed a diaper change. There was no diaper changing station in the restrooms in the men’s or woman’s room. So here I am going through a restaurant with a screaming child upset because her butt is wet all because there is no place for her to be changed. So my husband went out to the car to change her. By this time I’m so embarrassed and we asked the waiter to cancel our order we needed to go. Because our daughter was upset. He said it was to late to cancel our order and that he would bag it up for us. Which was fine we didn’t get to see the food before we left it was all bagged up. However once we got home I was absolutely disgusted. Tell me why our steak and food looks like it come straight from Dollar Tree freezer section? For the price I was absolutely disgusted. I paid 5 star prices for dollar tree quality. Both steaks was extremely tough and uneatable the creamed spinach tasted like it come straight from a can the best thing we had was fries but how can you mess those up. Tried calling the restaurant and couldn’t get though to anyone.

During our visit to Myrtle Beach in search of a potential condo, my family and I decided to dine at Ruth’s Chris Steak House—a favorite of ours in other cities, and this location did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the quick seating and the warm welcome from the two friendly hosts. Shortly after, we were introduced to our server, Phil, who truly elevated our dining experience. He was not only exceptionally knowledgeable about the menu but also shared interesting historical facts about the restaurant, showcasing both passion and professionalism. His personable nature made us feel right at home. As for the meal, we began with a Caesar salad and shrimp cocktail. While the Caesar salad was just average, the shrimp cocktail stood out with its perfectly sized, flavorful shrimp. The highlight, of course, was the steak. My daughter and I each had the petite filet, while my husband tried a special recommended by Phil called the “Cowboy on the Beach.” Phil even brought over a knife box for my husband to select his preferred steak knife—a unique and fun touch. All steaks arrived piping hot and cooked exactly to our preferences. The mashed potatoes and asparagus were excellent accompaniments. Surprisingly, the star of the evening turned out to be the crème brûlée—absolutely divine and the perfect way to end our meal. Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience. Thank you to Phil for his outstanding service—it was truly a pleasure.

Other than the service from our server Reginald, , this was absolutely the worst experience at any Ruth’s Chris I’ve experienced. First we were there to celebrate our son’s graduation. My husband and I arrived about 5 minutes before our party of 8. They would not seat us until of our party arrived. We asked why, and the manager said it was policy. Ok, no problem if it is your policy. As he mentioned the policy, they also have a policy about how to dress for the restaurant. There were several people being seated who were not dressed appropriately however they were still seated. We asked about the policy of dress being enforced. He said it was “suggested “. As you can clearly see in their published policy on dress code it says “required”. See pictures. Just disappointing they have double standards. This really set the tone for our experience. We spent over $1000 & tipped handsomely outside of the added gratuity. Two things stand out. The restaurant was not extremely busy & the people inappropriately dressed did not look like me. I assure you, we will NEVER patron this restaurant again. Shame on you Ruth’s Chris. I assure you I will be reaching out to corporate to discuss your inconsistencies.

Came here to celebrate mine and my wife’s birthdays because we know we’re always going to get an exceptional steak from Ruth’s Chris. This time was no different. We started off with the seafood tower which we had never ordered before. It was incredibly fresh and required little to no work to get to the meat since they already did the work for you. Ordered a Cowboy Ribeye to share along with Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Lyonnaise Potatoes as our sides. The steak came out sizzling and cooked a perfect medium rare. Melt in your mouth. Literally. The Brussels sprouts and potatoes were great. For dessert we went with the cheesecake and to be honest, I’ve had better. Maybe I’m spoiled with the Cheesecake Factory but something was missing. As far as the service, our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, however, the service was a bit slow. Took a bit too long to refill waters, clearing off the table when we were finished, and just didn’t check on us very much. Not to be picky, but when you’re paying this much for a meal, you’re also paying for the service and you expect it to be top notch. Overall, still 5 stars because everything else was great.
