The Carolina Opry Theater — Attraction in Myrtle Beach

I want to Thank Carolina Opry, You have redeemed what the BEST In quality entertainment in Myrtle Beach Means to us Pennsylvanians, I’m so glad we suffered a show at The other Theatre that begins with an “A” first, Because I can tell everyone reading this post trying to compare and decide between the two that there is no comparison, choose Here every single time, Half of the show at The other place I thought they were joking, they came out in oversized Disney costumes and It was one sad circus, complete with a Christmas sleigh half tucked away over the stage that I was really afraid might fall on the performers, Although I hate to say it, it might’ve put the whole thing out of its misery, so much so that I didn’t want to go to the Opry fearing it would be more of the same but we booked it anyway hoping it would be different, from the first Guitar chord plucked by their awesome Gold Guitar Wearing Gary, who looked like a young Johnny Carson (I couldn’t stop thinking that the entire show, If you ever saw the Jack Benny Show/Ball and Jack Performance you’d know What I Mean) I thought “Buckle Up, This is Entertainment” and from that moment on, I was right, The Fabulous Lady who sang Defying Gravity will blow your hair back, Her talent is really second to none, she could carry Her own show, She was Truly the best, The young lady who sang “something in Red” watch Her meteoric talent soar, you will never believe she’s something like 18 years old, She has an Insanely bright future before Her, the short, muscular lady who sang wild horses and wild flowers, as well as Somewhere over the rainbow, I saw people Looking at their arms for Chills&Wiping Tears, Wow, Another knockout entertainer, The gentleman singing the main Male vocals, Older Gentleman singer on the lap steel & their fiddler were 5 stars all the way,Stephen&the cloggers, wow!!!! He / They were Absolutely positively incredible, Give them all some Very High Praise, along with everyone I just mentioned and like 5 more parts, they’re unbelievable and had the audience cheering for more, I really can’t even begin to tell you how this talent is second to none, As an award winning chef, I’ve had the great honor of cooking for Celebrities, my work has been served all across the world even at the top of the world I’ll just say, and I can tell You the people I saw last night, were truly some of the best I’ve ever seen, This Was Unbelievable, This theatre, for these performers, If I were the owners, or management, I would give them all a round of applause, And let them know how valued they are, how appreciated their hard work is, how Proud of themselves they should all be, and Thank Them from two Pennsylvanians For All the Good memories That we’ve left the beach with because of their dedication to their performances and craft, they were unbelievable, one more set of honorable mentions, Karen, The Usher was fabulous and so much fun, She has a Heart of Gold and Made our evening extra special, The service staff at the concessions stand were also so much fun, We closed the house down and Were probably the last people out the door we had so much fun stopping to talk with all of them on the way out, they really punctuate the experience and made a lasting memory complete Before, during, and after the show, I cannot begin to Thank the Carolina Opry enough!!!! -Chef DanielLancaster Pennsylvania P.S. We had a great time here! We couldn’t get the 6pm tix we wanted but went to a 3:30p show. It was really fun. We arrived early to browse the grounds. They have lots to look at in the way of show animals and a gift shop. They also have a “waiting” lounge where you can purchase snacks and drinks. They take your photo when you arrive and you are given the opportunity to purchase just before the show or you can use the QR code to view and purchase later. They have an area where you can pay ($25) for pirate or mermaid makeup, costume toys, and team flags. They opened the doors 20 minutes before the show. Each table held 10-15 people so you’re kind of trapped behind the table unless you scored the 2 end seats of each table. Every seat is a great seat! We scored front and center seats and they were great for seeing closeup but all have unobstructed views and the set is wide. Lots of activity on all fronts. Food was yummy. They even offered to-go bags if you needed them. The service was fantastic. The acrobats and aerialists were amazing. My favorite was Salty the walrus. Such a cute segment! We returned last week to see the Carolina Opery show, which we had seen last year. I have to say we were very disappointed with the quality of this year's show. First the music was way too loud, probably because the theater was virtually empty and there was nothing to absorb the sound. There were missing performances and actors which really weakened the show. The first act was aweful. There was too much country music and streaming guitars. You got the sense that the actors were not enjoying the show either. The second act was a little better because there were big universally appealing songs that were well performed. Still it did not have the energy that we have been accustomed to over the past 10 years. I afraid I could not recommend the show nor will I return. We have purchased 8 tickets, for our guest, to Time Warp for March. I am hoping that this show has not deteriorated from last year. I hope that the actors smile more and enjoy presenting it to the audience. I know it must be disappointing when there are so many empty seats but that must tell you that you need to change some things. The performance quality does not give you good value for your money anymore. Time for...
