I have previously left a review for this place and we LOVE it. The food is out of this world and we make a point to go every time we come in on vacation. We invited our friends that are also down to join us for dinner at 8 this evening. Our friends arrived ahead of us and went in to get a table. The woman informed her that we would have to sit outside and she could not sit us inside due to a large party. It is absolutely pouring rain, storming with thunder and lightning. My friend asked how long the wait would be for an indoor table and was informed that they would close before a table was available, so our only option would be to sit outside in an uncovered area to eat. Storming…we’re not talking a sprinkle. It’s pouring and lightning is flashing across the sky. It was about 8:15 p.m. when the store closes at 9. There were small unoccupied tables everywhere.
I want to make it absolutely clear that I know the entire world is understaffed right now. I run a business and am painfully aware that it is extremely difficult to hire people, let alone people that will show up. This is absolutely not lost on me. I also know that an empty table here and there doesn’t mean there is a server available to take on a party. HOWEVER, with 45 minutes left to close at a pizza joint, I don’t think it is unreasonable to expect us to be accommodated. We wanted to eat quickly and return back to put our overtired children to bed.
Sadly, this is making us consider returning ever. It is our last night in town and we lost our chance to eat it and are now driving back to the south end where we are staying to find something to eat so that we can put our children down and get ready to return home tomorrow. I have spread the word at home about the food and our area’s favored vacation spot is the Myrtle area. It only takes one bad experience to completely shatter opinions and this one has pretty much...
Read moreI do not typically review restaurants, being a restaurant owner myself; however, my experience this evening was totally unacceptable. When Ducati’s first opened we were one of the first customers; speaking with the owner from New Jersey and sharing our excitement about their location and our love for Italian food, as we have a vacation home across the street. We are very particular about dining out, as we own and operate an Italian chophouse. We were impressed with their food and were repeat customers for many years. Our daughters favorite is the pasta fagioli soup -it was the best!! We have not been there for awhile and thought we would have dinner before our drive home( 2 hours). Our daughter( she has Cerebral palsy ) was craving their soup, we arrived at 6:00pm got our salad right away but after 30 minutes we only received our daughters soup. When it arrived it was nothing like she had before, it was cold tomato broth, no beans, maybe afew pasta but nothing like the original she feel in love with. They remade another which took another 30 minutes, but again nothing like the original recipe. Our daughter was hungry so ate it nevertheless. We asked repeatedly about our food and was told we were next although 2 tables that had arrived after us were leaving and we yet had received our food . We finally received our food at 7:45p, which was only 2 chicken dishes, in TOGO boxes, which is one hour and forty five minutes after arrival! We were told there was only 1 cook. We totally understand staff shortages, etc ; however, this was beyond belief. Although the manager on duty, apologized and did comp our meal, which we greatly appreciate ; unfortunately , our impression of Ducatis has been tainted, which is very disappointing because we had many great experiences in the past. We hope this is an isolated event for the benefit of...
Read moreI’ve heard a lot of good things about this place from coworkers. I walked in about 11:20am and nobody said hello, but 3 employees looked up at me as I walked to the counter. I felt like I was there before opening time and I had to check my watch to make sure. The person who took my order did not seem to want to be there (we all feel that way sometimes), but could have at least smiled or made me feel like I wasn’t doing something wrong. I knew the prices would be a little high because obviously the economy calls for it right now. I paid and dropped money into the tip jar. It was a little more than 10% because it’s a takeout order and doesn’t require a lot of service. Employee said it would be 10-15 minutes so I sat at a table out of the way. 2 separate people came in after me to place orders and both had theirs before mine. Then a table came and sat near where I was waiting so I got up to give them privacy. Another employee said “oh she didn’t know you were still here. Your foods right there” but nobody ever called out my name on the order or even looked around to see if I was there. Why would I pay for my food and then leave? I waited almost 30 minutes without anybody noticing. When I took the food off the counter, no employee spoke to me again. Not “have a good day” or “thanks for coming in”. Nothing. The portion was decent for the price of the lunch item and the food was honestly very good, but it came with bread that wasn’t toasted, was unseasoned, and cold. Just not what I would expect I guess. Maybe it was just an off day. I wanted to love this place since I live so close, but poor customer service will really turn a person away no matter what the...
