This was the first restaurant my family and I visited after moving to Kigali, and it’s held a special place in our hearts ever since. From the very first visit, the customer service has been outstanding—especially a girl named Vanilla, who has become our favorite server. She’s always friendly, attentive, and makes us feel right at home.
One of the best things about this place is how family-friendly it is. The playground is a huge bonus for anyone with kids; it gives the little ones a chance to play while we enjoy our meal.
The menu is packed with delicious options, and I genuinely have too many favorites to count. Top picks for me include the chicken and waffles, plantain chips with guacamole, and the steak or chicken served with a side of veggies. The kids are obsessed with the chicken nuggets and waffles, especially when paired with a cozy cup of hot chocolate.
The only downside—and it's a small one—is that whenever I order hot tea or a cappuccino with honey, the bees seem to think it’s their breakfast too. It can be a bit of a nuisance, but honestly, it hasn’t stopped us from coming back again and again. I also go during lunch time to work from there.
Highly recommended for families, breakfast lovers, and anyone who appreciates great service and...
Read moreIndabo Cafè is so freaking cute!!! They have really maximized on the space. You are surrounded by plants on all sides. They have a kids swing and a sandbox but no kids menu. There's a good mix of covered and uncovered seating. There's also a fire pit which is great for chilly nights. The furniture is simple but really well-made with Rwandan wood by local artisans. The menu is small which I love. All the options seem very fresh and health conscious. I had the chicken wrap with homemade chips. The wrap had fresh lettuce, apples and light mayo sauce. My sister had a "grain bowl" with grilled tilapia. The bowl had quinoa, avocado, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and fresh spinach. For dessert we had a delicious brownie with vanilla ice cream on top. The staff are super friendly, very well trained in hospitality and they speak English well. There's also 2 retail stores in this same space: Go Banana & Toddle Care. Super cute and affordable items. Look them up! Overall I'd give the experience 9 out 10! The food...
Read moreDid not live up the hype. The food is okay, the drinks are better. The two stars are for the passion fruit mojito I had, it was the only thing to rave about. The pace of service is dismal to say the least. My friend's order of a cheeseburger took about 1.5 HOURS. After noticing that people who had arrived after us were being served their food before us, we decided to leave. And it was then that our order miraculously became ready. We ended up having to take it with us because we had ran out of time. I got the avocado toast with sunny side up eggs, yet the bread was NOT toasted. But, I'm very laid back with such things, so I let it slide. However, the negligence and overall snail's pace in handling orders is simply intolerable in this...
