Shokola Café — Restaurant in Kigali City

This is a lovely place. Located on top of a public library, it has wonderful views from the terrace. The atmosphere of the place is charming: many plants, several wooden book shelves with books, a wall covered in art pieces, and a few artsy theme rooms to relax in. There is plenty of seating available, as the place is a not usually crowded (at least not on weekdays). A nice breeze comes inside through open glass doors leading to the terrace. The food and service are excellent. The place is good for work, meeting friends or coworkers, or spending a leisurely afternoon relaxing...

me and my homegirl decided to try it out bc we've heard about it. and 3stars is just that. idk why I expected sth extraordinary but it was really just another 🆗 spot. which isn't a bad thing but I feel like it's overhyped. granted it's located on top of the library so that kinda sets the quiet mood for you. if you're looking for a place to just do your work quietly then sure. come here. it was rather deserted. idk if that's bc we popped by on a Tuesday afternoon. 🤔 anyway, we ordered fish tacos and tell me how it was literally one big chapati with fried fish strips and avocado...

Actually the best place. It is so chill. The internet is awesome and Free! You have a great view from pretty much anywhere in here because it's on the roof of the library and has an outdoor part where you can sit. There are plugs everywhere- even if you sit outside so you can work all the time! The staff are so sweet and kind- they showed me all the different Rwandan coins!☺ I don't know if there's another way to get here, like from inside the library, but there are stairs outside the back of the building that is how I found this...
