Nestled atop the Meraki building on the 6th floor in the heart of Kimihurura, Lily restaurant offers an unforgettable fine-dining 🍽 experience that is hard to rival in Kigali.🎖 Our visit last Saturday was nothing short of spectacular, marking the establishment as a new favorite for any gourmand.🥰

From the moment we arrived, the professionalism of the staff was evident. We were warmly welcomed and seated on the outdoor terrace, where a breathtaking view of Kigali ⛰️ and Kiovu served as the perfect backdrop for our evening. The ambiance of the restaurant is a harmonious blend of modern and classic design, with thoughtful lighting that creates an inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal setting for special occasions or a romantic 💕 evening out.

The service throughout our meal was exemplary. The attention to detail was impressive—from the refreshing hot towels provided to clean our hands, to the graceful way the waitstaff draped napkins over our laps. Such meticulous service truly elevates the dining experience, making us feel pampered and valued.

As for the food, it was outstanding!👍 We opted for the beef medallions, accompanied by a velvety mashed potato and an exquisite mushroom sauce that was absolutely to die for. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors, perfectly executed and beautifully presented. To conclude our meal, we indulged in a decadent chocolate cake, and an ice cream drizzled in a unique Guinness-inspired sauce. It was a delightful and unexpected combination that left us wanting more.😋

Unfortunately, our experience at Lilly was a major disappointment. The restaurant is beautiful and has a stunning view - that's the major plus. However, the meal left a lot to be desired. Firstly, the website describes Lilly as a "culinary journey and delight your tastebuds with dishes from Rwanda and beyond." The meal was far from it - about as traditional a Western European menu as one could imagine. Not a hint of African heritage. Second, for this price, the menu was really uninspiring and boring. I had the pleasure of dining at Lilly last night. Everything was absolutely perfect. The restaurant itself is stunning with fantastic views of Kigali. The food was superb. We did the 8 course tasting menu and each was better than the last. It was the perfect amount of food and the flavors were perfectly balanced. Kudos to the chef! Bravo!
