Excellent service! Staff is multi-lingual and super attentive. The setting is intimate and cozy, open-air, beautiful views of course (this is Kigali :-) If you want to know what heaven tastes like, order the mushroom crumble with truffle oil! It's absolutely my favorite thing on the menu and I order it every single time. I tried the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Leg for lunch, came with fried plantains and a beautiful vegetable medley. Can't remember the name of my cocktail but it had tequila, triple sec and I think simple syrup - super yummy and I felt buzzed before the last sip ;-) Topped it all off with the uber rich, decadent, luxurious, melt in your mouth Belgian chocolate mousse that came with 2 different types of cookies/biscuits!!! WOO HOO!!! For me, restaurants are all about ambiance and this place serves it up exquisitely. Read moreOur group of 30 had an incredible experience with Poivre Noire in Kigali! They provided a delicious vegan lunch that truly exceeded our expectations. From the start, their communication was fantastic—prompt, clear, and professional. It was clear they understood exactly what vegan meant, which gave us great confidence in their expertise.
The food was not only flavorful but also beautifully presented, showcasing their creativity and attention to detail. The entire process was smooth and efficient, with everything perfectly organized for a group of our size.
Our group was thoroughly impressed, and many of us are already looking forward to dining at Poivre Noire again. If you're in Kigali and looking for excellent vegan options, this is the place to go! Highly...

The presentation is still exceptional but the thoughtfulness is gone. The carpaccio was cut so thickly it was like tartare. The initial bite they gave to every customer used to be a delicious soup and grilled bread. Now it’s a doughy fried corn fritter. The service is still exceptional but I am hoping they can improve their kitchen once again to reach the standard...
