A few days ago I was strolling around “The Zone” with a good friend of mine. And just talking about it made us really crave some ice cream. But not just any ice cream, Gelato Ice cream. And we had the perfect spot to try it out, An Ice Cream Parlour/cafe that goes by the name of ‘La Romana Dal 1947”. If you’re wondering whether Gelato is any different to normal ice cream, Gelato is said to be creamier, smoother, denser as well as silkier than traditional ice cream.
Nothing too over-the-top or fancy with the interior, it’s a minimal design and I can appreciate that. Unlike other places in the area, the interior isn’t really their main concern/focus point.
The service was really great and they have a wide variety of different flavours to choose from, they even have other food items you’d typically find in a cafe. The flavour that I went for was the ‘Bacio di dama con mandorle tostate’, or hazelnut truffle gelato with roasted almonds drenched in cocoa hazelnut cream, in english. They were kind enough to let us try a few flavours beforehand and this is what we decided to go with. We both really liked this flavour.
If you’re looking to get into the world of Italian frozen dairy, I’d definitely recommend this place to start with. Have you ever had gelato before? How was your experience?

Read moreThe atmosphere, the choice in music and staff were great, but the service a bit less. My family and I ordered 3 brioche with ice cream, and an ice cream cone with one flavor (keep in mind each one of us had ordered different flavor ice cream). After 5 minutes, the guy comes back saying they didn’t have any of the flavours we ordered, so unhappily we changed what we asked for. He then proceeded to come back another time saying that the other flavors weren’t available either, and that at that time of the day (10pm) most of their stuff was finished because they make small batches of it. The manager was nice enough to offer us coffee, but honestly if you are not going to have the basic flavours like chocolate and vanilla, you might...
Read moreThis gelato place is a must-visit! The chef was incredibly kind and generous with samples, which made the experience so nice. The flavors are unique and really yummy—I'd give them a solid 7-8/10. But what truly stood out was the texture—it’s so smooth and creamy, definitely a 9-10/10! You can tell it’s really high-quality gelato, and it made me feel so happy after eating it. The overall vibe of the place, combined with the great service, makes it a spot I’d definitely recommend. Also the prices are very affordable compared to the great quality, i expected to pay a way higher price and i definitely would have cuz it definitely deserves it! I’ll be coming...
