I used to rely on Etc as my go to nails salon for years ago until I found a closer salon to my home. However, I recently had the chance to revisit them, only to discover that the experience was completely different and in the worst way possible.
I went there last Wednesday, and Gulnoza was nice to me at first. But after applying gel on one of my nails, I picked up my phone to call my driver. She then grabbed my hand aggressively and told me to be careful because it was gel—in the rudest way possible. No one should ever treat another person like that, and I wouldn’t even accept such treatment for my own house staff. When I got upset and told her I wouldn’t allow anyone to speak or touch me that way, she tried to justify her behavior by saying, “I’m human.” That had nothing to do with what happened. I didn’t report the incident to management because I didn’t want to cause trouble for her.
As for my nails, they turned out extremely swollen and uneven. Everyone who saw them later noticed and commented that they looked fake. I reached out to the salon, and instead of offering an apology or acknowledging the extra time I had to waste fixing something that shouldn’t have gone wrong in the first place, they told me I could only get one nail fixed. I insisted that all my nails needed to be redone.
When I arrived, Nergis started working on my nails while trying to convince me that the issue was actually with my nails. However, I know exactly how my nails should look when done professionally, as I have been getting gel extensions for five years now and this is not new to me at all. The attitude I experienced was awful, as if I was receiving a free service, when in reality, this was a basic service that should have been done correctly from the start.
While Nergis was working on my nails, Gulnoza approached the table. Nergis pointed out that she was the one who originally did my nails, but Gulnoza completely denied it, saying there was no way she could have done such poor-quality work. After finishing my nails, Nergis told me that this was the best she could do and that it would have been better to remove them completely and redo them from scratch 💔.
I had previously visited the Etc branch in Al Malqa, which is literally only three minutes away from my house, but I chose to come to the Takhassusi branch instead because my experience in Al Malqa was already bad, and I didn’t want to repeat it. However, it seems like all their branches suffer from the same issue, poor customer service.

Read moreI don’t normally write reviews, but this one feels necessary. I made a nail appointment through their website for a biab infill + cat eye service with May at 8 PM. I was asked to confirm the appointment an hour prior to the appointment. 5 minutes after that, I was told that May was busy and I’d be forced to reschedule to 9:10. Fine, I thought. At the appointment itself, the receptionist asked me to show her a reference picture of what I wanted. This seemed a little strange considering the simplicity of my request. Upon showing her a video from their instagram, I was told that I’d need to add an extra service of gel color. I was fine with that. After she called May over, May complained to the receptionist in front of my face about not wanting to do my nails due to how late it was. When the receptionist explained that they close at 11, the nail tech said she preferred to finish early, despite me being the last client. How unprofessional! Mind you, it was the salon that rescheduled it at a later time. The receptionist also let me know that due to how late it was, May might not be able to do all the services that I SCHEDULED for in advance! I didn’t want to make a scene, so I just said I’d reschedule since it was clearly a bad time. They didn’t even offer me a sincere apology for wasting my time. I needed my nails done for an event tomorrow, but I no longer trusted their service so I walked out with nothing. Why would you accept an appointment you can’t completely cover? By far the worst nail experience of my life; I’d give them no stars if I could. I will never be returning. You’re better off spending your money and...
Read moreI went more than 5 times for hard gel Russian manicure and pedicure almost every time the gel would lift off the nail the same day.
Almost every time I went on time they made me wait for my appointment, sometimes even 30 minutes, even though they have “strict policies” on scheduling.
They make you pay before doing your service so you end up always paying before and after because the technician and the hosts are not on the same page when is comes to what the service is.
They made me sit in an area with no ac once, and I had to complain 3 times for the hosts to decide to move me somewhere with air circulation.
The nail technicians don’t have a proper standard to follow, I had a technician twice not use a vacuum when filing so powder was everywhere which made the experience uncomfortable, frustrating, and unsafe.
They obviously don’t care much about customer service or keeping regular customers, they care more about money, the last time I went my gel lifted off the nails before I got home, I had waited 20 mins for my appointment, I’m 9 months pregnant so it was not comfortable or convenient for me to sit 2 hours.
Then I sent images to the salon right away asking for a refund and they told me they won’t refund but I can come back in for the to fix it. But because this happened time and time again I wasn’t going to come in with and sit and redo half my nails for it to potentially happen again at 9 months pregnant.
They refused to refund me even though I’m a regular customer, so clearly they’d rather lose a customer than take accountability for a...
