I recently visited “swiss butter” restaurant that promised to deliver the classic french steak and fries experience, similar to the famed Entrecôte, but at nearly half the price. Unfortunately, the lower cost came with a significant compromise in quality, making the meal a thoroughly disappointing experience.
The steak itself was the biggest letdown. Far from the tender, flavourful cuts you would expect, this meat felt like it came straight from a bargain bin at a low-end supermarket. It was tough, chewy, and utterly lacking in flavour. The charred exterior did little to mask the subpar quality of the beef, which seemed to have been prepared with little care or attention.
The accompanying fries were no better. They were sad, empty, and devoid of any freshness that could have redeemed them. It was as if they had been fried in oil that had seen far too many batches, resulting in an off-putting taste and texture.
The signature sauce, which is often the highlight of a meal at similar establishments, was salty and uninspired. Instead of elevating the dish, it merely added to the overall disappointment.
Despite these issues, I was absolutely starving, so I ended up finishing the entire plate—more out of necessity than enjoyment. However, even in my hunger-induced state, it was clear that the meal fell far short of acceptable standards.
While the price might be attractive at first glance, the saying "you get what you pay for" couldn't be more true in this case. The savings aren't worth the sacrifice in quality. If you're looking for a genuine steak and fries experience, you're better off spending a bit more for a meal that actually delivers on taste and satisfaction. This restaurant, unfortunately, cuts too many corners, leaving diners with a meal that falls far short of...

I had the pleasure of dining at Swiss Butter and what truly stood out was the exceptional hospitality provided by the manager, Simon. Although my initial experience with the rib eye wasn't ideal due to its chewiness, Simon stepped in immediately, addressing the situation with genuine care and professionalism.
Without hesitation, he replaced my order with a perfectly cooked Beef Fillet that exceeded my expectations. To top it off, Simon graciously offered a complementary pain perdu for dessert, which was absolutely divine. His attention to detail and dedication to ensuring customer satisfaction transformed what could have been a disappointing experience into a memorable one.
Simon’s warm and attentive service truly reflects the his high managerial standards and I will certainly be back if he is there. knowing that I’m in good hands. Highly recommend!
