i had the privilege to visit MYAZU on 17/1/2023.
the atmosphere and design of the establishment was luxorious and the service was high-end and professional.
the layout of the menu was more complicated than it needs to be and it tooke me about 15-20 minutes to figure out what i wanted to order.
from the menu, i had the pleasure to try:
Smoking dragon for a drink (59 SR) the presentation was fantastic and the drink was light, fragrant, refreshing, sweet and tangy. i highly reccomend trying it.
Lobster Brioche for appetizer (105 SR) the bread roll was more on the cakey side and missing the springy Brioche texture, the Lobster itself was overcooked to the point it had the texture of cooked Tuna, the dressing was overpowering the taste of the lobster. but the dish was well presented.
Grilled Avocado Salad for appetizer (82 SR) the presentation was average, the ingrediants were fresh and ripe, the Crispy rice added good textural contrast, but the dish was overpowered by the over-use of truffle oil and it became the dominant flavor overpowering everything else. the dish was missing more acidity to contrast the heavy flavor of the oil.
Chicken Gyoza for appetizer (85 SR) the dish was well presented, the dough was on the thicker side, the chicken filling was pasty, but the flavors worked in harmony with eachother and the dish was enjoyable.
California Roll for main course (98 SR) the dish was presented in a traditional Maki roll style with a side of Japanese pickled ginger and Wasabi. the rolls were made with care, the rice was well cooked and held together without being mushy, the ingredients were fresh, but the Crab had a tough texture.
Beef Taki-Komi Gohan for main course (128 SR) this dish was the highlight of my experience in MYAZU. the use of truffle oil was appropriate, the flavour of the Rice was Rich, with a bold hit of Umami from the first bite to the last. the texture was creamy and luxurious. the presentation is nothing to be impressed about as the dish is merely served in a claypot.
Salmon Teriyaki for main course (165 SR) the dish was nicely presented atop a bed of salt, the Salmon was cooked to perfection, the skin was crispy, and well seasoned. the teriyaki Sauce was served on the side and had a sweet deep rich flavour.
overall i highly recommend the restaurant to people who are excited by new experiences and exotic ingredients. the menu is expansive and warnt...
Read moreDining at this restaurant was more than a meal; it was an experience I’ll never forget. The contemporary Japanese cuisine here ranks among the best dinners I’ve had - not just in Jeddah, but overall.
From the first dish to the last, everything was crafted with precision and quality. While it’s on the pricier side, it’s well worth it. The flavours, textures, and presentation were on point, I honestly could not fault a thing.
Here’s what we ordered: • Lobster Brioche w/ yuzu mayo & gold leaf • Burrata w/ black truffle, yuzu, crunchy beetroot & black pepper • Wagyu Sando w/ wagyu beef fillet, Japanese bread & katsu sauce • Wagyu Tataki served warm w/ truffle shavings & ginger dressing • Toro Caviar • Marinated Najil Ceviche w/ yuzu ginger dressing & jalapeño salsa (complimentary) • Grilled Scallop w/ umami butter & passionfruit fruit shiso salsa • Oven-baked Black Cod w/ Myazu miso & pickled daikon • Myazu Date Cake served w/ toffee sauce (complimentary)
If I had to pick one standout, the Toro Caviar was unforgettable. Imagine premium Kristal Caviar served on Japanese O-Toro tartare - it was absolutely flawless. The Signature Wagyu Sando wasn’t far behind either. Perfectly medium-rare wagyu, tender and easy to bite into, making each mouthful a pleasure.
The ambiance adds to the experience - a dark, contemporary space that’s stunning in every detail. The staff were another highlight: professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly, making the whole evening feel special.
So if you’re looking to elevate your dining, this place is a must-visit and I would recommend booking...
Read moreThis place ranks among the most refined and upscale dining venues in Jeddah. With friends visiting from out of town—one of whom is particularly fond of Japanese cuisine, especially sushi—I wanted to treat her to a sophisticated and memorable lunch today. They were genuinely delighted to discover such an exceptional dining experience available in the city.
From the moment we entered, the staff showed exemplary hospitality, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Their professionalism was commendable, but what truly captivated me was the impeccable aesthetic of the space. The interior design is nothing short of stunning—elegant, thoughtfully curated, and visually striking. I could have spent hours simply admiring the place. ( Only if they had good coffee options, I could go there everyday just to enjoy coffee in that aesthetically pleasing place😍)
Anyways, I refrained from indulging in a full meal, choosing instead to enjoy a selection of salads and drinks, my friends were thoroughly impressed with the food and couldn’t speak highly enough of the flavors and taste!
It is worth noting that the restaurant is on the pricier side, making it more suitable for special occasions rather than frequent visits. However, for those who appreciate high-quality Japanese cuisine in a luxurious setting, it serves as the ideal venue to celebrate meaningful moments.
Overall, a distinctive and memorable experience—truly a gem in Jeddah’s...
