Good morning Riyadh, today let's explore Elixir Bunn on Abi Bakr As Siddiq Road in An Narjis. A beautiful setting with both indoor and outdoor seating reminiscent of a vintage European style Café.

Today, I have a guest reviewer (with a local perspective), Tima Alshehri, and together, we are tasting some exquisite beverages and delightful desserts.

Tima has a matcha and her first reaction: "The matcha powder is premium high-quality and smooth and tastes so good (no sugar...wow!). The barista Nawaf Alrugaiba did a great job of mixing the matcha (well done). Tima's rating is a perfect 10 out of 10.

I get 3 hot beverages, the espresso (single shot), and Americno (black coffee is made from Elixir Bunn blend (Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia coffee beans), has a smooth fruity cup profile, with a medium roast, my rating for both is 9 out of 10.

The coffee of the day made ftom Ethiopia Moji coffee beans with vibrant fruity and floral aromas, and my rating is 9 out of 10.

The date cheesecake 😋 has an oreo biscuit base, and the cheese is smooth. With pecan caramel sauce, pieces of dates, and pecans, the sweetness was well balanced and complimented the coffee. Our rating is 9 out of 10.

The brownie was a good accompaniment for the coffee. On it's own it lacked the fudgy, goovy character. Our rating is 8 out of 10.

Overall rating is 9 out of 10.

We decided to try Exir Al Bon and ordered a V60 and a Tiramisu. Although there were other dessert options, we chose the Tiramisu as it seemed the best choice, but unfortunately, it didn’t impress us at all. The chocolate powder on top tasted odd, and it didn’t feel fresh. The overall taste was below average to the point that we couldn’t even finish it.

What surprised us even more was that we asked for Iced Coffee of the Day, but they refused, saying it’s only available hot. They suggested we order a V60 instead, which was a bit unusual since most cafes offer Iced Coffee of the Day as a standard option.

That said, the atmosphere of the place was lovely, which is what initially attracted us to...
