MNKY HSE — Restaurant in Municipality of Al Shamal

Absolutely do not recommend if you get overstimulated by loud noise and flashing lights.

I could barely hear my friends over the insanely loud music, not to mention there’s a “show” and by that they mean a guy with a macbook playing techno music on full volume with strob lights behind him and with the waiters. And they gave out, get this.. glow sticks… yea.. halloween accessories. Aside from how tacky it is, customers should be notified beforehand that the show has strobing lights and even LOUDER music, because I certainly wasn’t and it was a terrible experience for me as someone with anxiety.

I had to go outside to breath some fresh air and ended up visiting the much quieter and respectable place next door, Cipriani. It’s such a complete 180 from MNKY HSE. They were so kind when I asked for some water that I wished I had had my dinner there instead.

Moving on to the food it’s insanely overpriced and so incredibly small. I ordered tacos expecting them to be filling… they were smaller than my hand!!! and only 3 pieces! same with the sliders, only two pieces and they were SO INCREDIBLY SMALL!! Whatever size you’re thinking of, think smaller. And the sushi tasted okay but for the size and price ratio, I’ve had better.

I literally had to eat somewhere else after because I was still so hungry, none of what I ate was filling.

I would not go again or recommend it to...

I made a reservation to celebrate my friend’s birthday on the 7th of November but we couldn’t even sit for more than 5 minutes before leaving!!

First they refused to seat us at the booth because we were 3 and they said that the booth is for more people, even though the restaurant was literally EMPTY. It would’ve been fine if the waiter told us in a polite way, or offered to change it to any other table, but he was very disrespectful! When I asked him to clarify whether all the restaurant was expected to be filled cause now it’s empty (and it was already past 9 pm)? He turned to my friend and told her (you can repeat to her what i said since she’s not understanding) what kind of unprofessionalism is this!

Also the waiter tried to serve my friends water from a USED water bottle that I brought with me by mistake!! And when she was shocked and pulled her glass away, he looked at the other waiters and started laughing???

We of course left and gladly found a table at Cipriani next door to enjoy our...

Coming to this restaurant i had high expectation. Even though we booked our table in advance and specified that we don’t want. The table at the door. They offered us the table at the door 🙃. Even though they had other available tables inside. We spoke to the “general manager “ European gentleman he said he cannot give us other table. We told him we can not sit and enjoy our dinner if its not the table we’ve asked. His response was “so if i didn’t give it to you what would you do? Would you leave?!!! 😟We told him YES we would. Then he gave us the table that we asked for.

It was my birthday celebration and i was disappointed from the beginning of the night.

We went for shishito peppers 🌶 , chicken chipotle tacos 🌮, mnky truffle rice 🍚, PRAWN TEMPURA MAKI 🍤, KING CRAB SALAD 🥗, Dragon Passion , coffee latte ☕️.

It was delicious but i would not come again for the not...
