A pleasant Friday morning, here I am at Le Grenier à Pain | لو غرونييه أبان (Bakery and Brunch) for a breakfast review.
Chef Ludovic from France has been making his mark on the French cuisine landscape in Riyadh.
This French Bakery and Brunch restaurant has a nice ambiance with indoor and outdoor seating. A great team led by Mehmet and Younes, with friendly staff Samerr, Shada, and Jonathan.
The assorted bread basket with butter honey and jam was a good place to start (my rating 7 out of 10)
The Village Benedict had a nice layered bread with poached eggs and labneh (my rating: 7.5 out of 10)
The Omelet Parisien woth fresh lettuce and cherry tomatoes were tasty, refreshing, and flavorful (my rating: 8 out of 10)
The flat bread Burrata had a nice crunch and mild taste, a bit dry for my palate (my rating: 7 out of 10)
The Tiramisu French Toast was the star dessert of the day with a soft, creamy texture topped with fresh berries and toasted coffee seeds, well balanced (my rating: 9 out of 10)
The mocha latte hot beverage was well presented and could have been a bot more dense (my rating: 7 out of 10)
The croissants are delicious and have a nice feel, almond croissant was the star (my rating: 8.5 out of 10, plain croissant (my rating 8 out of 10) and chocolate-almond croissant was too sweet (my rating: 7 out of 10)

Read moreIt’s a nice restaurant. Went here for a late breakfast on a Friday (weekend). It was not busy. The Welcome is warm as you enter and we could choose were to sit. There is quaint ‘French’ music playing throughout the restaurant but in my opinion it is way too loud.
I felt the waiters were not at all interested in making us feel like welcome guests. They didn’t seem to want to take our order and kept directing us to their QR code menu. That’s fine when you’re busy but when you’re standing around doing nothing, why not offer a good service.
We were given fresh crusty bread and butter to enjoy which is a lovely touch. My chicken salad was very bland even though they had put dressing on it and it came without the breadsticks so I had to ask for it. The other diner with me enjoyed their Eggs Benedict. We also had dynamite shrimp which was very good.
In all, we had an nice meal. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to order any desserts but they did give us a San Sebastián cheesecake to try, which was amazing. I would go again but probably just for...
Read moreOutstanding food and excellent customer service. While we usually love frequenting this restaurant, it was our first time trying their Iftar buffet tonight. The menu consisted of an impressive selection of main courses, assorted breads including croissants, huge variety of desserts and the most delectable appetizers you can find in the city. The presentation is at its finest. They even include fresh juices and coffee in the price. The servers were eager to please and service was courteous. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning.
Update : Visited this restaurant multiple times especially for the Iftar Buffet this year and the Iftar boxes last year . The manager at the restaurant is a very nice guy who always makes sure to go out of his way to ensure we leave happy. The food even though was a set menu rivaled a buffet and we enjoyed the taste and variety offered. He even checked up on us and asked on the experience. Really worth it. We are going again for Iftar this week at this restaurant....
