TACOSON — Restaurant in Municipality of Al Shamal

Food was good at the beginning when the restaurant opened but not anymore. I visited this week and I found the meat taco so dry, the guacamole is just a green liquid (I can teach you how it supposed to be or is it just a cheap solution?) also the meat nachos was beyond bad..the cheese was not even supermarket quality, it was a gas station quality..a yellow greasy liquid actually. The yard’s identity for years was marked by its dim lighting..but they recently renovated the seating for the restaurant with hiiigh lights that made the place looks like a food court in a mall 😭 they ruined this place. I asked the manager to lower the lights but her refused and he didn’t even try to communicate with the higher managers to ask! I wont talk about the fence they added which...

I've been to Tacoson twice already. On my first visit, I ordered mixed tacos (2 beef & 1 chicken taco) and a plate of nachos. On my second visit, I ordered birria (not displayed on their menu but it is available) and another plate of nachos. The steak is amazing. It's flavored with what seems like just salt and pepper but it tastes so good and remains tender even when cold. I also loved the birria. The meat was tender and even though it is oily (as it should be), it's so easy to scarf down both tacos. The consomme was also so flavorful and I feel no shame drinking what's left in the cup 😂. I've eaten at a lot of Mexican style restaurants and honestly for me, I was a bit disappointed. The food wasn't very hot, and it needed a lot more flavour. I also tried grilled marinated chicken (3 pies), it was fine but the hard taco piece had a weird taste and odour. Staff need to ensure theres no bird poop on tables too. The seating area is outdoors but it has a covered roof and has glass walls. My friends tried Birira Burritos and Quesadillas Birria which they quite liked. Its quite messy eating, so they give you disposable gloves to wear. It is only self service as far as you order and wait for your buzzer to go off and go...
