L'Olimpo — Restaurant in Municipality of Olaya

Honestly, when I saw the reviews on this place I got excited, but experiencing it was a totally different story. First they had only on person at the reception, who at our arrival happened to be taking a phone call, we had to wait for what seemed like an eternity. Secondly, the place was hot, air conditioning was barely working, and when we asked to be moved to a cooler table, they said the AC is even lower at the other parts of the restaurant. Now this is Riyadh, if your AC isn’t fully functional you shouldn’t even consider opening until you get that fixed.

Now lets get to the food, menu and then finally the service. The menu was not even memorable, dishes were similar, truffle fries, truffle pizza, truffle pasta, truffle risotto, I mean you could try different flavors it wouldn’t hurt. The seafood was not even remotely fresh. The pizza was good, one pasta dish was what you would call a decent dish.

The service was the worst, I mean don’t get me wrong, the staff was very nice and friendly, overall good people, but they have no idea what a restaurant service should be like. They didn’t know how to organize the table, the appetizers and main course came all together, every time a new dish came to the table it felt like we had to tell him what to do.

My experience here was alright, would I come back? No. If someone asked me they are coming here, I would tell they can find a...

We went to celebrate a birthday, and the employees were exceptionally proficient and helpful. The food was great, the environment was relaxed and welcoming. And the servers were more than efficient and friendly.

The only and biggest downside was the receptionist. We had just ordered dessert, and she showed up demanding that we clear our table because the specific table that we were currently seated on was booked for someone else and that we have reached our time limit! It did not matter that we paid a hefty bill, nor that we were still not done with our dessert and coffee. Or that two other tables cleared out while she was rudely about to kick us out!!

She came with her strut and the attitude twice before we called the manager. The manager was extremely polite; he apologized and agreed for us to stay. Still, the pesky girl came back, and said that even if we spoke to him she as a receptionist had no other choice but to ask us to leave.

No matter how great the food is, this behavior makes customers refrain from visiting again.

Recommended if you show up and stay for as long as her royal majesty the receptionist “allows”...

This was my first time to this restaurant, initially I was amazed by the architecture of the building because it’s not a traditional structure of Riyadh. It had lot of balconies, windows and quiet unique.

Food, We ordered Pizzas obvious choice if you go for an Italian, spaghetti bolognaise and some other dishes. Pizza was nice however they got cold real soon, it may be they put it on a dish instead of a wooden tray. But taste wise I was good!

Spaghetti Bolognaise - first portion was really generous, presentation was good too. The only small problem I had was with the size of Spaghetti itself they were too thick. It would have been nice if they are little thin.

Rest of the people like whatever they ordered so I apparently food taste is good overall.

Ambiance, Nice, tidy and comfy restaurant with really good interior.

Service, People were really nice, they greeted us well and then served the food with smile. So 5 starts for the service without a doubt.

Overall good family place to eat out...
