The King Salman Science Oasis is a really interesting and diverse place to visit in Riyadh! It's thoughtfully divided into sections, with two of them being free to explore, which is a great bonus. I particularly enjoyed the Coffee and Date section. It offers a fantastic overview of Saudi coffee culture, complete with the opportunity to actually smell the distinct aromas of different regional varieties. It's quite an engaging experience and very informative. The Honey section was also fascinating. You can learn about the various types of honey produced in Saudi Arabia, the beekeeping process, and even get to smell the specific flowers that contribute to the different honey flavors. It's surprisingly educational and a treat for the senses. The third section is the Butterfly Garden, which requires an entrance fee (75 SAR for adults, 35 SAR for kids aged 2-16). While I didn't personally go into this section, it sounds like a lovely experience for butterfly enthusiasts. There's also a nice shop inside where you can purchase local products like honey and coffee, as well as other souvenirs such as notebooks and children's books. It's also great to know that there's another oasis open, the King Salman Cultural Oasis, and that even more oases are currently under construction throughout Riyadh, promising even more to explore in the future. The King Salman Science Oasis itself offers a unique blend of sensory experiences and information, making it a worthwhile visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for something a bit different...
