Sky View Restaurant — Restaurant in Riyadh Region

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia -- Not really impressed as a hotel guest to be turned away for dinner because of the World Cup game. They say they're not part of the hotel but most of the reviews here assume they are the hotel restaurant and they certainly get a lot of custom through the hotel. If you are a visitor in Riyadh and need an evening meal, is it reasonable just to refuse to serve you a meal in the hotel where you are staying? They even said they were too busy to do take away. Taboolah was nice, but I didn’t like the lasagna. Atmosphere is super casual, but the pool in the middle is a bit of a hazard if you have kids as it doesn’t have any barriers. Don’t know if the pool is for aesthetic reasons or for swimming. Bathroom was ok. No parking and very difficult to access the front of the building by any other means than walking. Let me say the food did not match up to the vibes, atmosphere, or not the experience I was hoping for. The rooftop view to the Kingdom Tower is beautiful, the staff were very attentive, but the food was not my taste.
