Silk Road Restaurant — Restaurant in Riyadh Region

This is not the first time I dine in silk road, they are one of my favorite places to go to in riyadh, but last night was different, we went to have dinner as they had the seafood night, upon arriving they staff welcomed us and I informed them that I will be using an "enterntainer" voucher, at that instant everything went downhill... The employee had to call a manager, the manager had to explain that If I want anything from the display it will be 50 SAR extra charge, I agreed to that asked what do I get, he said 1 lobster, 1 shrimp and 1 fish... Its a good deal when it comes to cost but come on... 1 shrimp? Your an elite hotel... Then they told me that I have to pay extra VAT 15% on the whole amount if I add the display option, I told them its fair to pay for the 50 SAR but not the whole amount, we never were asked to pay VAT on a buffet amount in silk road before, they agreed to that, then when I ordered soft drinks again the waiter came back nervous, I told him before u tell me, We will pay for the soft drinks aside, he was reliefed :) Then when we were leaving they charged us 15% for the whole ammount... i just paid and left... I just really wish they add everything to the main price and dont act in this cheap way by adding every bit alone... If this is the management instruction, its not nice in a fine dining experience... But I highly doubt its the management, these guys were throwing numbers from their heads... And this is a management problem as...

We went there on Saturday, if there is less than star for food I would give it . The food was not fresh at all, the nuts on the stuffed lamb were chewy and clearly old , the desserts were older than 3 days and tasted so bad . Next day we suffered from food poisoning symptoms. The best experience I had among Riyadh restaurants. Everything is perfect from the very welcoming staff, friendly atmosphere, food quality and variety. A luxurious experience as it should be.
