Tong Kian Coffee Shop (Newly Renovated) New Operator — Restaurant in Jurong East

Bad service. I used to order it on foodpanda and it tastes good, so I thot I come down to order when it didnt appear on the app. I came and saw the staff was chit chatting to another person, probably a friend or a supplier as there was large amts of cash transferred. When I confronted them, the lady that seemed like a non staff glared at me in disbelief and rudely told me off that they were talking. I was shocked and speechless. She wasnt a customer as she left after handling the large amts of money without any food taken. I wasnt told to wait, but shooed. Okay, if you dont want business its fine okay. I was a customer and being treated like that is being treated like dirt. Hopefully it never happens again

Edit: yes hi to the owner I cn see the response but I cant reply to it. As for the staff it was the smallest girl talking to a woman in black, and the woman in black shooed me away saying they were busy in convo. Not to interrupt but I thot I cld at least be given a ‘please wait’ or sth instead of rudely being shunned away? No further qns please its just...

Tong kian ☕️, i donno, never get the chance to sit here, came here umpteen times but juz the hawker centre .. fairly good wanton mee n very good auntie's " chapchye png" (curry rice) juz like kampong's (village) mother's cooking .. less oily starchy, n no sugar.. cheap n good less then $3.00 a meal. Oso good curry chicken noodles 🍜 $5.00 Oso good wet market n they stay late too. Lots of old folks too, playing chinese chess♟️🀄.. 🐎 horse bets 🤔.. leave them alone, they are very peaceful - i like them. And ☝️Tong Kian - i hv seen lots of tables having flower crabs bee hoon noodles claypot $60.00 must be their star☆dish .. will try someday. Carparks 🦽 👌 ok....

Update 9 September 2024: Okay, the popular Wanton noodles & BBQ pork stall has reopened after an unexplained closure for a month or so.

The longest queue is still at the famous Indian Nasi Bryani / Prata stall. The economic rice stall is a near second.

Interesting that the coffee stall employs young Malaysian girls - rare in neighborhoods. Yet they serve everyone equally well and will help elderlies to return trays. And yes, their yen-yang...
