Disappointing Experience at Jack’s Place – Terrible Service, Poor Food Quality
I recently visited Jack’s Place with a group of friends, and unfortunately, the entire experience was nothing short of terrible.
First, when I asked a waitress about the difference between a ribeye and sirloin steak, she rudely cut me off before I could even finish my question, telling me that all steaks except ribeye were out of stock. Naturally, I ordered the ribeye. However, to my frustration, when the rest of my party arrived, someone was able to order the supposedly “unavailable” sirloin steak. By then, it was too late for me to change my order.
When my ribeye arrived, I had ordered it medium, but upon cutting into it, it was clearly rare. I even asked my friend, who works in F&B, to confirm it. Everyone at the table agreed it was undercooked. When I politely informed the waiter about the issue, he rudely argued that the steak was medium and refused to acknowledge the mistake.
The same steak was then returned on a new hot plate, but this time it was overcooked and burnt. After speaking with the manager, they took it back again and brought me a new steak. Unfortunately, the plate was so hot that oil was splattering everywhere, and both my hands got scalded. The excess oil made my face feel greasy, and although the steak seemed cooked properly, it tasted overwhelmingly salty.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, my coke float wasn’t cold when it arrived, which made it taste flat and unappealing.
The service at this outlet is atrocious. There was a server who rushed around the restaurant recklessly while carrying hot plates, endangering both customers and other staff. When he first brought my steak, he carelessly threw the hot plate onto the table, causing it to hit my glass, which nearly spilled onto my lap. To top it off, he had a strong body odor, which made the dining experience even more uncomfortable.
Lastly, the manager didn’t seem very competent, as he had to return to our table multiple times to confirm our drink orders for a party of six.
Overall, this visit was highly disappointing. I won’t be returning to Jack’s Place, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless they drastically improve both their service and...

Food was pretty good but experience was ruined by Siew Mei multiple times.
The entire time she had a black face and was rude.
Initially when we wanted to order, we informed her and she said wait a minute, went on to do other things and forgot about us. 5 mins later and we asked again and was told to wait yet again. Which the same thing happened. After a few minutes we then decided to ask another staff who got someone to help us order.
For the baked potatoes, we politely asked for extra toppings and she just looked at us, ignored our request and just put the regular amount. (We’ve been to multiple jacks place so we knew what the regular and extra portion is like).
Later when we were served our soups, we only received one piece of garlic bread despite having 5 bowls of soup.(4 lobster bisque and 1 mushroom) So we asked her if the garlic bread was only for the mushroom soup. (Because in the past, we were given bread for the bisque too). She just gave us a rude look and said “I don’t know, I didn’t take your order so I wouldn’t know.” Then we asked if she could check and without replying, she walked off to get it checked.
Since then we didn’t even want to talk to her as her service was horrible. The other staffs were nice and polite though.
Very disappointed with how the quality and service at Jack’s Place is getting worse each year.
———————————— Visited here for dinner. Been here tons of times in the past but seldom visit jacks place nowadays as their quality have dropped.
Nice ambiance and friendly staff!
We started with the lobster bisque and mushroom soup. Lobster bisque tasted very diluted but the mushroom soup was good.
The pasta in the triple meat was so hard. It seemed as though they gave us old aglio olio that was reheated in the microwave. We informed the staff and they gave us a new batch.
Fish & chips was below average. Won't order again.
The chicken steak was pretty good and their classic baked potato can't go wrong.
Overall, a very...
Read moreBack to this outlet twice, in early feb and yesterday (11 Feb). We had great dining in early Feb than yesterday dining. Disappointed for Saturday dining 🍽 . Ordered via the qrcode. Believed the waitress able to view what customer order. My partner ordered the add-on (soup and dessert). No one informed 'what e soup of e day' [early Feb dining, their manager informed the soup of day]. So, when two soups served, the waitress asked who ordered tomato soup. I am surprised that she asked us this question. Our main served. The condiment sauces (olive oil and empty bottle) ordered for vinaigrette for salad [apparently waitress did not check sauces in bottle before serving) But my partner noticed something missing from the baked potatoes 🥔. (Yes, butter, the cream, the bits of bacon and garnish of spring onion). Had to inform the staff then add.... that is far cry from other outlet service...... My partner trying not to feedback further but asked...something still missing.... yes, we ordered our drinks yet till ending our meal.. it were not served. And none of the staff asked whether the food ok, everything OK? I ordered a Black Forest Cake as part of the meal upgrade. When asked for the deserts, was told there are no more Black Forest Cake and was ask to the counter to re select a cake, yes there are "no Black Forest Cake", so I chose another cake, but in mere last than 20 minutes after my new cake is served. Upon paying the bills, I saw 2 rows of Black Forest Cakes! nicely display at the then empty chiller. I felt so cheated. At counter, prior to payment, informed that drinks were not served. Could only say staff at counter was friendly lady.
Overall, rather disappointed dining on Saturday evening. Felt like canceling the membership, signed up because Jack Place has always been laud for good food and dining...
