Booked the Dome at the Summerhouse for my proposal.
If you are doing the same, things to take note of:
-book early (at least 1-2months in advance) -You get the option for Garden or Prestige menu, the latter being more expensive with more items on the menu. -Garden menu is priced at $380 for 2pax, and Prestige menu is priced at $499 for the same, excluding gst and service charge -pay a deposit; $200 if it's a special event, and the remaining on the actual day after your dinner, depending on the menu you choose as above. There are no additional charges to booking the dome, as it's already included in the menu you choose. -you get to choose 2 timeslots (6-8pm or 830-1030pm) -they allow you to come 2h in advance to set up your stuff (either your friends or vendor) -no confetti or artificial flower petals -no taping on the glass of the dome -you can shift the furniture inside, but be sure to shift it back after you are done -violating any of their above rules will get you a fine of $2000. -there are 3 domes in total, the 1st 2 domes are the smaller sized one. Only the last dome is the largest. Choose the largest sized one for comfort, since you pay for the same price for all 3domes. -the rental for the pavilion and the area outside is $750 for 2h -additional guests can dine in the domes with you at either $125 or $168 per pax. They get the same food items as the menu you choose -they cannot eat in the same dome as you -there is Aircon inside the dome, be sure to have it switched on -no lights in the dome, except the fairy lights that light up at night -you can drop by to the dome before your actual event to do a site visit -you can request to go into the dome anytime before their dinner timeslots (just let the staff know the purpose of your entry and they will open it for you) -cater for yourself time to set-up, dismantle, time it takes for food to come and time you and guests/partner take to eat
We got the Garden menu, which comes with what you see in my pictures. Forgot to snap the mains which was quite decent as well. Food-wise, all is good and worth the price. Baguette, foie gras, soup, oysters were fantastic. My beef i requested for medium rare, but somehow it seemed a little more overcooked than usual. Also, staff will occasionally pop by to refill your glass of water. But if you need to call any of the staff, you might need to physically go out to call them, since there's literally no way to communicate with them inside the dome.
I like how the staff follows up with an email for an after-service, providing me with a personal reservation link if I wish to come back again.
It was a rush overall since you need to account for timing for proposal, and cater for time to eat and set-up and dismantle the decorations.
Love this place all in all! 10/10 would come again if I feel like...

Me and my partner made a reservation here on 28 Jan, 7pm to celebrate our anniversary. I will write a very honest review about our experience here. The area where we were sitted was v nice, beside a beautifully decorated wall of plants. I think these 'nicer' seats are given to ppl who are celebrating special occasions. I appreciate the service crew's effort to sit us there. We ordered the 'communal dining' course meal. There were some good courses and several hit and misses, with ONE VERY TERRIBLE MISS. We especially enjoyed the rye bread with home made butter, and the grilled prawns. The avocado truffle ikura with quinoa crackers was interesting, something new to our taste buds. The starters were pretty solid, so they did build up our anticipation for the mains, only for us to be sorely disappointed. When the duck leg confits were served, we were pretty pumped as they looked visually pleasing. The meat looked tender, and they fell off the bones easily. However, lo and behold, they were REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY!! SALTY!!!!! I am someone who eats salty food, and believe me when I say this is really freaking salty, on another level already. On par with or even possibly surpassing the saltiness of salted egg white. I tried 2 more bites, but it was overwhelmingly salty, so I summoned the courage to bring up the matter to the service crew. I have never complained about food to any service crew before, but this duck confit was the first time I felt a need to. It felt like ingesting spoons of salt with every bite. What I got from the service crew was that 'french food is supposed to be salty'. I attempted to ask for a change in the course meal, but it did not look like it was going to happen as the manager was rather adamant that the food is supposed to be salty, although I am still not convinced it should be THIS salty. The manager offered us more onion sauce to neutralise the saltiness...and because we did not want to make things difficult, despite the really no go duck confit in our opinion, we just suck thumb and eat lor. I tried my best to eat as much as I could cus it's not cheap... So, ORDER AT YOUR DISCRETION... Order only if you know you can eat a whole duck leg size of salted egg white... The elderflower sorbet is really nice tho, IT WAS THE SAVING GRACE. And at last, the crew gave us an on the house red velvet cheesecake to celebrate our anniversary, and that also helped to make the evening a little better, and we do appreciate the effort.
It was not a bad experience overall, bcus it was rather funny trying to finish eating sth...

🍜 Food wise: Overall it was a splendid experience. With the staff’s recommendation, all of the food presented was superb! My favourite was the Escargot de Bourgogne, dished on a hot Escargot plate, this wasn’t your ordinary Escargo where you eat the meat off the shell, they have made an edible shell where you can simply pop one into your mouth! With a crispy and biscuit like texture, this “shell” delivered the perfectly prepared and cooked escargo, served with Parsley butter, into the mouth. Unbelievely juicy Escargo! This might be the best one have ever eaten!
Next, for the main dish, the recommended Pluma Iberico was incredibly soft and tender, the flavour of the pork burst into the mouth! This Iberico is definitely a strong competition against the Wagyu. This goodie is also served with crunchy Brussels Sprouts, perfectly seasoned, not too salty and there wasn’t bitterness, they also presented the natural sweetness of this vegetable. And finally, the apple purée just balances the meatiness with the refreshing fruity taste!
If you would like a soup, then the Vichyssoise is definitely a die for! This is no ordinary potato soup here, this soup was fragrant, thick, and not too heavy for one person to down the bowl! Yet, this soup is also good for two to share! Try eating the bread dipped in this soup too! Having this while having the cold cuts tasted really good too!
Now, the scallops were fresh, firm, and sweet, seared perfectly, a great starter. The Baby Lamb Rack was tender, it had a nice gentle gamey taste, worth a go too!
Finally, to end off the meal, the Yoghurt Sorbet will be the best! It had a wide range of tastes in one bowl, sweet, sour, minty, and flowery. The mint jelly was fun, it wobbled, it was quite minty and it was not overly sweet. The Elderflower Sorbet melts fast, so do eat it first, try it bit by bit with the rest of the ingredients to have the best of all worlds, and finally let some melt and mix with the rest of the dessert, so good!
✨ Ambience wise: Very romantic restaurant, good for dates, anniversary dinners, and weddings!
🤵🏻 Service wise: Service was prompt, warm and welcoming. With such a spread of choices of food, the staff pointed out all the best that they offered and explained each dish with such detail, the service was definitely a 5 star.
