Pizzeria Soča KOBARID — Restaurant in Kobarid

Unfortunately the worst dining experience we've had in Slovenia.

The waiter seemed nice to us, but completely snapped at a family with a young child next to us. He made a remark telling them to go back to their own country, after which they left. I don't know what the family did, maybe they were rude too, but making a remark that is racist in nature is absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional, and this waiter should be ashamed of himself.

Then the food: we ordered a pizza vegetariana and a mixed salad. Both were a 2/10. The pizza was soggy, the dough was undercooked, as were the toppings. There was a layer of liquid on the pizza that had come from the tomato slices. When I tried to take a pizza piece to my mouth, all the toppings slid off. The mixed salad was in fact not mixed. It was some lettuce and some chopped cabbage with small amounts of other veggies thrown together in a bowl, without mixing, and without dressing or seasoning. My rabbit would be happy with this, but I expect more at a restaurant than animal feed.

EDIT: I don't know if the reply by the owner is visible publicly, but he just said that I have no right to judge the waiter's racist behaviour because it happened on a table next to ours, and he also told me that he will take legal action against me for my honest critique. Perhaps worry about the quality of your food and service, instead of threatening your customers. Very...

The only reason this is lower because the pizza was adequate(but nothing to write home about). The service was horrible, I ordered the Vegetariana which in the says in English that it has tomatoes, peppers, zucchini and olives but when I got the dish it also had eggplants(I don't like eggplants), I called the waiter and he was immediately mad, he got the menu to show me that it does say eggplants which to his credit was right but only if you read the Slovenian version and is absent from the English version, he tried to insist that I'm wrong and that I should have known(which makes me wonder why they have it in English in the first place). other than that they did not let us sit inside whilst having multiple tables empty, the restrooms weren't upkept, and they charged us for the water and the extra plate, look a water might be reasonable to charge for, but an extra plate?!? in general it was a horrible service and the waiter looked angry at us for even looking at the bill. Avoid this restaurant if you can there are plenty of better...

Staff is friendly but haven't got the best skills in using Slovenian language, nor any other language, so we had some comunication problems as the waiter didnt understand what we wanted. The pizza I ordered was almost average, I've had beter. But stil okay for a quick lunch in a buisy day. Quality of prosciutto and salami on the pizza were poor quality, not as tasty as it could be, as all the other ingridients of it. Location is right beside a buisy centre road, a lot of noise, not really safe for kids, the terrace is small, the tables are too close, literally felt like I was having lunch with the strangers sitting on the next table. I ordered decaf coffee but got a normal coffee instead. They do not offer a lot of beverages. only cash payment. Also they charge 1€ for an extra plate. Prices are average.
